Top 7 Age-Defying Eye Cream Ingredients

It's obvious that the best way to prevent lines and wrinkles to the eye area is to drink plenty of liquids, use moisturizer, and to not tug at your delicate skin while removing makeup. Because the delicate eye area ages faster that the rest of the face, we need to pay special attention to it.

When selecting an eye cream read the ingredients list. If the names are too hard to pronounce look for another eye cream. And, keep in mind that just because the label looks pretty and states the word natural on it, that doesn't mean it is healthy for your delicate eye skin.

Here is a list of top eye cream ingredients that have stood the test of time and are proven to work.

Coenzyme Q10. This powerful antioxidant increases oxygen delivery to tissues, counteracts free radicals, and prevents skin damage.

Hyaluronic Acid. Wow. This natural protein attracts 1,000 times its weight in water and therefore plumping up fine lines in the eye area.

Ester-C. Since it is a combination of minerals, bioactive metabolites, and non-acidic Vitamin C, this eye cream winner stimulates collagen production.

Essential Fatty Acids. The outer layer of the skin needs EFAs to maintain its integrity, ward of dryness, and prevent sun damage. Omega-6 is the unsung hero when in comes to wrinkle prevention. Sources or ingredients to look for include borage seed, hemp, and evening primrose oil.

Vitamin E. Palm oil derived tocotrienol heals redness, protects against sun damage, and stops flakiness of dry skin.

Green Tea. This antioxidant-rich tea repairs the skin due to its strengthening anti-inflammatory properties. Green tea helps drooping skin.

Protein Peptides. These essential proteins promote collagen and elastin production for firmer looking eyes.

Avoid the use of creams containing parabens or phthalates. Use eye creams loaded with ingredients formulated for dry skin to get optimal anti-aging while becoming a natural beauty.

Skin Discoloration - Age Or Liver Spots, Hyperpigmentation - How We Get Them & What To Do About It

Freckles. Age spots. Liver spots. Dark patches. Pregnancy mask. Melasma. These are all different names for the same thing: hyperpigmentation. This is a very common skin disorder that occurs mostly in women. Older men are often seen with dark patches on their skin as well. It appears on the face, chest and hands most commonly, but can occur anywhere on the body. Two primary causes of hyperpigmentation are sun-damage and hormone disregulation. The loss of the hormone estrogen is what makes women more likely to have issues with it than men. Most of us have at least one mark, our birth mark, that makes us unique and identifies us. But are the rest preventable?

Freckles are hyperpigmentation marks that develop, usually but not only, on fair skinned people, upon sun exposure. They can be dark or light, large or small. There are two types of freckles: Ephelides are freckles that fade in the winter, while Lentigines develop darker and do not fade. The spots themselves are not important, but the long term effects of the sun are devastating to the skin. Slackening of skin tone and accumulated discoloration are only among the visible effects of sun damage. While the term "age spot" is a bit misleading, the fact that built up sun damage creates these spots and that they are prone to get worse as we get older is true. The spots have absolutely nothing to do with age alone. "Sun spots" is a more accurate term. Likewise, the term "liver spot" is a complete misnomer as the liver has nothing to do with skin pigment or discoloration.

Why do these spots occur? The sun stimulates "melanocytes" which are found deep in the epidermis and are responsible for our pigment, or melanin. The more sun we are exposed to, the more pigment our skin produces. When we begin to see dark spots on the skin that don't fade, we then have hyperpigmentation. If you have any spots that are irregular in shape or color you should see a doctor for a cancer screening. Skin cancer does not only occur on moles as is commonly thought. Any bluish or jagged edged spot should be checked.

To get rid of normal brown sun spots requires a protocol of a few very simple steps along with a healthy dose of patience. If you follow these easy steps you will be able to see a difference in time. Your spots will fade slowly over a period of several months. This can be difficult to see on a day to day basis since it is a slow process. So it is best to continue treatment without being obsessive about checking the mirror each day! You will be a lot happier if you just go about your skin routine and forget about it for a while. If you can, you may want to take a "before" photo. Then in a few months another photo in the same location and with the same lighting. Do this every few months for a year to see the changes in your skin.

1. Exfoliation -- Keep the skin exfoliated well in order to allow penetration of the active ingredients. Hyperpigmentation begins deep in the epidermis. This step is crucial to successful treatment.

2. Treatment - Application of a product made to inhibit melanin production

3. Protection - You MUST use a sunscreen daily no matter what the weather or you will defeat your entire treatment plan.

There are several courses of action to reduce or remove sun spots. The first method of course is prevention by means of sunscreens and vitamin C serums. We will discuss Vitamin C serums in another article. Many of us had too much sun exposure as children and young adults to be completely free of spotting. If you have ever sunbathed a lot, you will get spots. It is never too late to treat sun spots. But it is never too early to start taking care of your skin properly so you don't get them in the first place.

Treatments:

Perhaps the fastest method with the least effort to you is the laser. This often requires at least 6 to 8 treatments several weeks apart and has lead to permanent scarring in some cases. If you choose this method, make sure your clinic does a test patch somewhere discreet before using the laser on your face.

Another option is Cryotherapy. This is when liquid nitrogen is applied to the spot and freezes it off. I perform this in my office under my esthetics license with great success. There is little to no risk of scarring with this method and many times it can be treated with one or two visits. This is much more affordable than the laser but it is difficult to find skin centers that offer this technique, although with the advent of the "Cryoprobe," it is becoming easier to find. If this interests you, do a search for the term Cryotherapy or Cryoprobe in your area and see what results come up.

Topical products are the only other option if you are intent on getting rid of dark spots on your skin and should be used as spot treatments only, never applied all over the skin! If you smear a lightening gel all over your face, it will lighten all of your face, not just your dark patches! So your skin will still be uneven in tone and it will most likely look more blotchy than before you started using your lightening product.

The most popular and most effective ingredient in skin lighteners is Hydroquinone, which has been available for fifty years to reduce skin discoloration. There is controversy over its safety but there is no disputing that it works when used as directed. The side effects of hydroquinone occur rarely in users and are primarily that of skin thickening on areas of use, or the skin turning a bluish brown color in darker skinned people. Some studies have indicated it to be a carcinogen. To date, this has not been proven. The most common known side effect is a slight skin irritation. This is resolved by discontinuing use.

A formula of 20% Azelaic Acid is proven to be as effective as 2% Hydroquinone over a longer amount of time. Therefore products with Azelaic Acid may take a bit longer to be effective. Retinoids and Retinol (forms of Vitamin A) have been well researched and proven effective in not only creating collagen in the skin, but in lightening dark spots due to its exfoliant properties.

This is a most challenging skin condition! The problem that most clients run into is the amount of patience required for skin lighteners to be effective. When a person applies the product for a few weeks and then begins to forget to apply it, they will say that it does not work. And they would be right since it takes longer than a few weeks to see results. But with continued use you can reduce the amount of melanin that your skin produces in these areas, and thereby "lighten" or "bleach" the skin.

We have chosen a variety of products for our store that have a variety of ingredients from the more aggressive (hydroquinone) to the very natural, more preventative ingredients. You can find them under "Shop by Product Type" and then "Lightening Products."

Anti Aging - Tips For Staying Younger Longer

While we cannot reverse the aging process or even stop or slow it down, we can help ourselves to stay younger longer. What do I mean? Our lifestyle patterns and habits are the biggest influences on the way we look, and even on how fast or how slow we age. By changing our own lifestyles, we can both look and feel years younger.

One of the most influential of all our lifestyle routines that tend to affect the way we look and the perception of our real ages by others is our stress levels. Many people overwork themselves, do not find time to exercise or even relax, and in fact do not even get a full five hours sleep minimum every night. We all know this, for it describes even our own lives, doesn't it? So what does it have to do with the way we look and feel? The answer is everything. One of the reasons that we age is because our bodies become inefficient at producing the required hormones in the required amounts, and often the lack of one sets of a series of reactions or chain reactions.

The growth hormone is one of the hormones generated by our bodies while we sleep. A lack of sleep would mean less growth hormone in the body which in turn would be a signal to the brain that our aging process has begun. This in turn would signal increased hormone releases for insulin, and decreased hormone releases for other hormones such as melatonin and DHEA. These in effect would result in the signs of aging such as increased diabetes risks, restless sleeps and fat buildups among others.

Another of our lifestyle habits that affects the way we look is our social habits. Smoking for one has been known to add years to a person's age, primarily because smoking releases free radical toxins within our bodies which accelerate the aging process. Free radicals are produced by our bodies naturally, but habits such as smoking and increased exposure to the sun can force the release of more radicals than normal into our bodies. Free radicals have been proven to contribute to aging by attacking the cell structures of all organs within our bodies. Most visible is the skin, where we can see the breakdown of the skin's cell structure by its loss of elasticity and underlying structure.

Finally, exercise is probably the most influential but least acknowledged of all habits that can affect the way we look for our age. Unlike the first two above which stimulate our aging process, exercise actually works the other way to slow it down. This works too ways. When we exercise, we keep our bodies fit and get rid of toxic chemicals faster, thereby releasing internal stress within our bodies and extending the life of each individual cell. Additionally, exercise keeps our minds fit as well. When we cleanse the body internally, our minds automatically feel released and cleansed as well, and this undoubtedly has the subconscious effect of making us feel younger, stronger and more relaxed as well.

Velform Chin Wrap - Reduce Your Sagging Chin

Many people develop a double chin as they age, and it is an ugly side effect of aging. Surgery can correct a double chin and remove the excess fat and skin, but not everyone wants to have a face lift or operation. For those people who want to restore their double chin to a more youthful look without going under the knife, there is a product that can help.

A double chin is caused by fat deposits that gradually stretch out the sin and cause the chin's sagging appearance. If you want to get rid of your double chin the first thing you need to do is to start a diet and exercise program that will help you to lose excess fat all over your body. Because a double chin is nothing more than an excess fat store, consuming fewer calories than you take in will help to reduce the fat. Although a general diet and exercise program will help to reduce your sagging chin, it can be a stubborn area to tone as exercising it can be a challenge.

Some people will find success in this method alone, and other will notice only a small reduction in the fat under their chin. Everyone stores fat differently and while the proper diet and exercise will help everyone to varying degrees, some people need more help than others. This is why many people turn to specialized chin exercises and chin wraps, such as the Velform chin wrap. This chin wrap is designed to re-firm the chin and reduce the look of sagging. Many people have great success with the Velform chin wrap and after using it correctly find that they have a firm, taught chin once again.

The Velform chin wrap works in combination with a reaffirming reducer gel that helps to firm your chin and reduce the sagging. You simply apply the gel to your chin and neck, slip on the chin wrap, adjust it to your chin using the simple closures, and enjoy the feeling of a firmer chin. The Velform chin wrap raises your sagging chin and allows the reaffirming gel to tone and tighten it.

The chin wrap allows the gel to penetrate the skin and fat cells helping to reduce the fat and re-firm the hanging skin. The Velform chin wrap only has to be used twice a day, once for 10 minutes and once at 20 minutes. Results can usually be seen within a week with full results happening after a month. The chin wrap is easy to use and adjusts easily to any chin size with elastic and simple fasteners.

Fear of Aging - You Still Have Choices

The fear of aging impacts all of us at some degree in our lives because ultimately it is what aging symbolizes that we are frightened of. We all acknowledge logically that we will perish or at least no longer be physically here however for most of us this fact is really difficult to wrap our minds around. Aging represents the predictable changes that will occur to the body and mind over the natural course of ones life. Most folks have a pessimistic perception of aging, and many to the degree it produces intense anxiety in their lives and undervalues the quality of their life. The specific changes that we fear from aging may include the passing of beauty, the loss of memory, the loss of limb function or the loss of bodily organs however they all really represent vitality and independence.

Our society centers heavily on our physical existence, and this is the one aspect that everyone agrees will inevitably die. Indeed, society helps to feed this anxiety toward ageing. As we age society seems to value and respect us less and less and this understandably contributes to the fear of aging. We are no longer of value in the labor pool. We are no longer able to protect ourselves and become vulnerable. We are no longer physically appealing. We are burdens on our loved ones. We loss our mental sharpness. We loss our ability to remain independent. We are hidden away by being put into homes so the rest of society does not have to be reminded that one day we will be in this very position and in fact it is inescapable.

Accordingly we feel powerless in this undesirable process. The cosmetic, fashion, skin care, hair care, and plastic surgery industries are cashing in on our anxiousness and dread of aging. In point of fact, they prey on our fears because after all it is in their economic interest to keep us in a state of fear or denial and buying their products and services in this vain believe that we will somehow ward off our impending death. There is nothing wrong with wanting to preserve our physical appearance as long as we can also accept the changes when they do occur.

All the same, there is additional than manners to look at aging. As a matter of fact, the word has many dis-confirming connotations that come along with it. According to Buddha, in order to stave off suffering and pain we must detach from our physical reality and perceive it only as a temporary illusion. By doing so we liberate ourselves from fear and suffering. We choose to experience the present moment and be thankful for the good and the bad of any situation, including the deterioration of the body.

Additionally, our engrossment with the passing of our youthfulness prevents us from receiving the changes and mystery the journey before us represents. Nonetheless, one can make a radical shifts in thinking or mind set toward embracing the gifts of aging. There are many events in our lives that we can not control or change however we do have the choice of how we are going to deal with each event. We can choose to live our lives or let our lives live us. Aging is just another stage of our journey with its own mysteries and learning possibilities, we choose what to do with these opportunities.

As we age we begin the realize the importance of friends and family and having meaningful relationships. This however is a double edged sword because we are faced with the reality of death as many of our peers and friends pass away in greater numbers and with more frequency. It is therefore important we cultivate our relationships even more, for friendship and support. There are many senior focused activities in our communities, these are a great resources and should not be overlooked.

Become mindful of your spirit and develop your spirituality (spirituality is not the same as religion) whether through prayer, meditation, or Yoga. We all need to feel the inner sense of our innate divinity. It is never to late to find out who you really are, look inwards to find the answers and do not allow society to dictate your value. Another option, volunteer, it is never to late to have an impact on someone else's life. It makes no difference whether your passion is to help people, animals or the planet, help is needed everywhere. Focus on living not aging.

Anti-Aging Products That Can Turn Back the Clock

Holding off the effects of old age is a good thing; being able to turn back the clock is a great thing. When looking for anti-aging products, you are probably interested in something that will do both - not just keep you looking as young as you are, but something that will help you to look even younger than you are. There are of course no miracle cures in a bottle or pill; if there were, everyone would be using them. But there are some anti-aging products that are very helpful in not only protecting the skin from damage that makes it look old but in helping it to reclaim its lost glow as well.

The biggest threat to skin's vitality and good looks is the sun, along with things such as pollutants, cigarette smoke, and weather. The best anti-aging products will be those that protect the skin from these elements. This means a sun block for use in the morning and all day. If the products contain antioxidants, this is also beneficial. These are the elements that help to destroy free radicals, the chemicals that break down healthy cells. Many anti-aging products will advertise both these ingredients, but you should always make sure your skincare products have them.

As with all other systems in the body, the skin needs vitamins in order to be healthy. Vitamins A and E seem to be the healthiest for skin; look for anti-aging products that have a high concentration of these. Vitamin A may be advertised as retinol or Retin-A.

Of course the best anti-aging products aren't really products at all but habits and lifestyle choices. Proper exercise will mean more fresh blood and oxygen to the skin on a regular basis and this can help the skin repair itself and keep itself looking fresh and glowing. Adequate hydration is important for the skin as well; if you don't have enough water in your diet the body will take it from the skin, which will produce wrinkles, and give it to the muscles and vital organs. Drinking water may be one of the best anti-aging products you can give yourself.

A 2006 article in the Journal of American Medical Association suggested that by periodically restricting our caloric intake to as little as 890 calories a day, or fasting, resulted in a decrease in insulin levels and body temperatures, another two biomarkers of longevity. Restricting calories helps to eliminate the free radicals by burning off more calories than you take in thus reducing the amount of fat stored in the human body.

There are no anti-aging products that are going to work if you don't use them regularly. Nothing is such a miraculous cure that you can use it once in awhile and expect to have positive results. Make a habit of setting aside enough time before you go to bed each night to go through your skincare routine, and use your appropriate products every morning as well. This is the best way to help your anti-aging products work.

If you're vigilant with your anti-aging routine and use the products we've described, as well as take care of yourself overall, you're sure to see results.

Some other common vitamins and over the counter products can help with the anti aging process such as Zink and Tea Tree Oil.

Zinc is needed for healing and maintaining healthy tissues. Amino Acids are the building blocks of protein and are the vital components of skin, hair, muscle tissue, the body's organs, blood cells, various enzymes and hormones. Zinc also has a profound influence on the body's ability to resist disease.

Tea Tree Oil has natural anti-inflammatory properties and helps sooth and treat problem skin. It is used to help tighten pores and firm skin for a more youthful, healthy appearance.

7 Ways To Make Your Skin Glow

Nothing says youthfulness and good health like glowing, fresh skin. Some people are born with it, some can thank their family genes, but for the rest of us beautiful skin takes some work. What you may not realize is that it is easier than you think to have skin that glows. These seven tips will help you get the skin that you have always wanted.

1. Eat Healthy

If you want beautiful skin, it is important to maintain a healthy diet. You need plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats and dairy in order to have a healthy body and healthy skin. You want to steer clear of processed foods and canned foods because these have a great deal of sodium and ingredients that can cause your skin to become dry, oily or just malnourished. Do your skin and body a favor and only eat fresh foods. Broccoli is a great food to eat if you have acne and fish is great for your skin in general. If you are eating the good foods, your skin will show it.

2. Drink Plenty of Water

It is important to drink lots of water to keep your skin supple and moist. If you do not drink enough water, your body will begin taking water from various minor organs in order to feed the major organs. One of the minor organs that is affected is the skin. When the water is drawn from the skin to take care of major organs, you may notice that your skin is very dry and even flaky or it is extremely oily. Drinking lots of water, though, combats that and keeps your body balanced.

3. Cleansing Matters

Cleansing should be a vital part of your daily routine. You should remove your makeup each night and thoroughly cleanse your face each morning. The products that you use are also important. Whether you opt for a brand name, drugstore brand or a natural brand of skincare, you should cleanse your face daily and do it the right way: Using lukewarm water (not hot, not cold), splash some on your face. Put some cleanser on your fingertips and work it into a lather. Using a circular motion, rub the cleanser on your face, jaw line and neck. You don't want to scrub, be gentle. Rinse your skin by splashing lukewarm water on your face and neck until the cleanser is gone. Pat your skin dry with a clean towel.

4. Exfoliate

Exfoliation is a great way to get a quick glow. The trick is to get an exfoliator that is gentle but effective. You don't want a very coarse grit because you don't want to overwork your skin. Use a fine grit and make sure that it is gentle. You can use it each morning prior to applying your makeup for a glow that will last all day. To apply, splash your face with lukewarm water. Apply the exfoliator with the pads of your fingers in a circular motion. Avoid your eye area and don't scrub hard. Rinse well and pat dry with a clean towel.

5. Sleep

A good night's sleep is one of the best beauty tools you can have. While many people believe that sleep deprivation causes dark circles under your eyes, this is not true. When you miss too much sleep, fluid can collect under your eyes, making them puffy. If you are prone to dark circles, which is a concentration of blood vessels just under the skin, then the puffiness will make the dark circles more prominent. This can add years to your look. Plus, your body repairs itself while you sleep so if you don't get enough sleep, it can not repair itself adequately. So take the time to get a good night's sleep.

6. Your Makeup Means a Lot

Your makeup can mean the difference between great, glowing skin and acne or dry flaky skin. The mineral makeup that is gaining popularity lately is actually a makeup that is good for your skin. Some versions have certain minerals, though, that certain skin types react to so you may need to try a couple of different formulations until you find the one that is best for you.

7. Relax

Stress can wreak havoc on your skin so it is important that you take time to relax. Meditate, take a warm bath (not hot! Intense heat can harm your skin) or just talk with a friend. Classes such as yoga and Pilates are great stress relievers. If you take the time to relax and relieve your stress, your skin will thank you.

If you follow these seven simple steps, you'll soon have softer, younger looking skin, and you just might start getting unexpected compliments, but of course.

Keeping Skin Young - 5 Things That Will Age Your Skin

We all want perfect skin. We shovel out tons of money on products in the hopes of reversing the signs of aging or grasping on to the tail end of our youth. Unfortunately, while there are many bridges we'd cross in the attempt to ward off wrinkles, there are still several many more we refuse to even consider. Think you're doing everything to save your precious skin? If you're guilty of one or more of these sins against skin then you may be at risk for the signs of aging far before you're time.

  1. Over Exposure to Sun: The sun is vital to our existence and you should enjoy it but do so with caution. No matter what time of the year it is always apply sun screen of 15spf or more. Exposure to the suns raise can result in a host of of skin issues ranging from pre-mature aging to cancer. No matter how much you love that tan hue, keeping your skin fair can preserve it for years to come.
  2. Skipping Out on Z's: When you sleep you recharge your body and it does a once over so to speak. Chemicals are released and actions are taken to remove toxins from the body. When you don't get enough sleep this doesn't happen properly and will eventually take a toll on your skin. So if you're used to long nights with little sleep you may want to start figuring out how to get some rest.
  3. Smoking: There are these pesky little things called "free radicals, " that come from various pollutants and can cause tons of problems for your body. Cigarette smoke is responsible for releasing these radicals into the air and into your skin. Even if you only smoke occasionally, it's still enough to subject your skin to damage. Besides the impact of smoke on your face, you may also want to consider the action of smoking in and of it's self. For those of you or are habitual in your nicotine affair, you're constantly putting you face in the position for lines and wrinkles every time you pucker up and inhale.
  4. Picking, Prodding, and Popping: It's so tempting. You see it glaring at you in the mirror ruining an otherwise stunning makeup job. It's there a few days before the big date or the interview. As much as you don't like to admit it, you probably are or at least have been guilty of popping those pesky pimples. Unfortunately, while it may be a short term kinda solution it can create a long term issue that will not reflect well on your pretty face in the future.
  5. Drinking: Ever notice how horrible your face looks after a night of heavy drinking? Alcohol dehydrates your body and thats not good for your skin either. Lack of moisture can make it far easier to damage your skin permanently especially when combined with other skin damaging activities.

Proactive Skin Care - Defeating Acne

Acne in adults is one of the more perplexing and annoying conditions that an otherwise healthy adult can deal with. It can lead to phobias, depression, anxiety, and a loss of self-confidence. Luckily, there are some simple guidelines to follow which can help you clear up acne, and maintain a healthy and attractive skin.

1. Make sure to choose your cosmetic product carefully - a product that doesn't complement your skin may actually irritate it or make it too oily. You want to look for cosmetics labeled 'comedogenic,' which means 'non-acne forming.' Also, don't go overboard when applying your makeup: use a light touch, so your skin can still 'breathe.'

2. Watch what you eat: the belief that chocolate and greasy foods can intensify an acne outbreak has a basis in truth, but all foods have the potential to affect each individual's skin differently. People are more apt to experience worse acne when consuming these foods if they have sensitivity to it. To ascertain your food sensitivities, it is highly recommended that you keep a food diary to be able to pinpoint the foods that cause your outbreaks.

3. Clean your skin regularly: many people with adult acne are helped by merely washing the face two to three times per day with a gentle 'comedogenic' soap product. If you experience acne in places other than your face or neck, you can also use a comedogenic body wash.

4. Surprisingly, either skin dryness or oiliness can be a cause of acne in adults. The reason for this is that acne can be a result of an imbalance in the acid level of the skin, which in turn can cause the skin to be either too dry or too oily. Ideally, you should take charge of your skin care by using soaps and moisturizers particularly suited to your skin type in order to perfectly balance the moisture level of your skin.

5. Finally, it may surprise you to find out that your environment can be a cause of adult acne. Excessive air conditioning or heating, pollution, air quality problems, and airborne allergens can all take their toll.

Dr. Oz Tells Oprah Anti-Aging Secret To Live Longer

Dr. Mehmet Oz visited the Oprah Winfrey Show to discuss his anti-aging secrets to living longer. Dr. Oz, renowned cardiac physician and co-author to the book YOU: Staying Young contends that there is absolutely no reason why we don't have a chance to live to be 100. "Aging is not about avoiding disease," he says, " it is about living with vitality." Dr. Oz revealed that the greatest aging factor was stress. Reducing stress was therefore a huge concern.

Another aging factor is diet. Most of us consume a diet high in fat and sugar with little or no exercise to move it along. Add to that a lack of sleep and too much exposure to sun and you have all the components for premature aging. Dr. Oz tells us that "...the fountain of youth is inside us.... it's in our cells..." and that it is up to us to maintain a healthy environment for this to function properly.

The first exercise is breathing. Using your diaphragm can calm your nerves. Breathing exercises come in with meditation and physical exercise. Performing these can greatly reduce your stress level and the effects that has on your body. He suggests that if you cannot sit still long enough to meditate that you use other methods like Tai Chi. This combines meditation and focus with exercise. It is all part of the body and mind connection.

Certain foods aid in reducing stress and aging exceptionally well. Fruits and vegetables rich in anti-oxidants can boost your immune system and help fight negative stress. Some of these foods include blueberries, tomatoes, carrots and broccoli. Magnesium is known as the anti-stress mineral. You'll find this in whole grains, beets, and raisins. Foods high in vitamin C, such as oranges and grapefruit, and foods rich in potassium like bananas, avocados, and yogurt, help to lower blood pressure. All these can lower your stress levels that will significantly lessen the effects of aging on your body.

Reduce stress, heal the hurting heart, alleviate conflict and confusion in your life, eat right and stay active to reverse the affects of aging. Allow your cells to repair from the inside out. " Aging is not about avoiding breakage. Aging is about repairing what is broken." says Dr. Oz. " When you lose the ability to repair, you become frail." It is truly mind over matter.

Raw Foods - the Best Anti-Aging Skin Care

With all of the lotions, remedies, and shots available to reverse aging, there is one anti-aging skin care remedy that is easy to use, less expensive, and very effective: a raw food diet. For those who are new to this thought, this means eating fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, basically. In this article, I will explain some well known and lesser known anti-aging skin care nutrients that can reverse wrinkles, explain which raw foods are highest in these nutrients, and why it's best to get your skin care nutrition from living food.

There are several nutrients that you should have in your anti-aging arsenal: selenium for skin elasticity and tone, vitamin E internally and externally, vitamin C for collagen production, and vitamin A for tissue repair. Although water is not considered a food, good, clean water is most certainly a factor in facilitating youthful skin . Raw food sources for these nutrients and for the ones below can be found in the Chart Directory on my website. Here are several other, lesser known, great anti-aging skin care nutrients:

Vitamin F combats dry skin , is an oil your body needs, and is found in raw foods such as: flax oil, lecithin, and sunflower seeds, to name a few. This skin care nutrient's absorption is inhibited by the modern day diet high in saturated fats.

Potassium promotes youthful skin , and enough good cannot be said about this vital nutrient. Some raw foods that contain potassium are apricots, avocado, bananas, broccoli, cantaloupe, dates, dried fruits, nuts, parsley, peaches, seeds, and spinach. This is one of the most important anti-aging nutrients, and most people only get half or less of what they need!

Vitamin D is essential for healthy skin , mostly absorbed from our exposure to the sun. Shiitake mushrooms is one raw food source, and chlorella contains chlorophyll, which reduces our requirement for D. This is an overlooked anti-aging skin care nutrient, but important since it promotes absorption of other anti-aging nutrients, such as vitamins A and F. Recommended amount of sunlight is 5-10 minutes, 2 or 3 times/week.

Bioflavinoids are anti-aging skin care nutrients that prevent muscle degeneration, and affect the skin ; some raw food sources are: skin and pulp of fruits, apricots, blackberries, cherries, grapefruit, and peppers.

Paba is a skin care remedy that is used externally in reducing wrinkles, but is also beneficial when consumed. Some raw food sources are blackstrap molasses and wheat germ.

Pantothenic acid prevents premature aging and promotes wound healing, and is found in raw foods such as: broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, peas, royal jelly, spinach, walnuts, to name a few.

Biotin prevents grayish skin color and promotes cell growth, an integral factor in promoting youthful skin . Some raw food sources are: almonds, bananas, mushrooms, raisins, walnuts.

Vitamin B complex promotes healthy cells and prevents dry or rough skin , it is found in raw foods such as broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, and green leafy vegetables.

Raw food is the best source for all of these anti-aging skin care nutrients except vitamin D for several reasons. First, I have found that many of the vitamins and minerals needed to help you absorb the nutrients needed to reverse or eliminate the aging of the skin , are already found in fresh raw foods. Secondly, one of the most important ones, potassium, is not in most store bought vitamins, and if it is, only a very small dosage is there. A diet high in raw foods is the only way to go to get your daily needs for potassium! Thirdly, many things we eat actually prevent absorption of these skin care nutrients: salt, sugar, coffee, saturated fats, and laxatives, to name some, and many times are eaten in place of the raw foods, so that the needed nutrients were never gotten in the first place.

In closing, raw foods provide so many wonderful benefits. One of the greatest benefits is healthy, youthful skin , described as "getting the glow", an effect achieved on a raw food diet rather quickly. I encourage you to take control of your health and reverse the aging process by going on raw foods!

Anti Aging Skin Care Product Reviews

Since times immemorial, it has been a dream of every living soul to remain youthful throughout his or her life. People can go to any extent to ensure that their appearance remains comparable to that of an eighteen year old. Thankfully, now there are products to assist them in the pursuit for eternal youth.

A myriad of anti aging skin care products are available in supermarkets and cosmetic shops. Anything that is capable of reversing or at least arresting aging of skin can be classified as an anti aging skin care product. These include creams, lotions, pills, injections, massagers etc. It is very difficult to choose a suitable product because the variety befuddles most consumers.

Because of the ease of application and portability, anti aging creams are very popular with people concerned about aging of skin. There is no dearth of brands selling in this category either. Therefore, to ensure that you really benefit from an anti aging skin cream, you must decide which one to buy after reading anti aging cream reviews.

What you see is not what you get. Don't get duped by advertisements. Don't assume that an anti aging cream that is advertised in prime time commercials is a safe bet. Instead, take the pains to read several anti aging cream reviews before deciding whether the product is worth being tried.

Not all anti aging cream reviews are unbiased. To ensure that you are reading a review which is truthful and unbiased, make sure that you check the veracity on two counts: first whether the person writing the review is an acknowledged independent expert, and second whether facts are being reported or is the review just a piece of juxtaposed superlatives.

What should a review of an anti aging cream include? Well, it should first and foremost list the composition of the cream and explain each ingredient in detail. Second, it should explain what were the assumptions made in the conducted tests. It should then explain the results of the tests in percentage terms.

Anti aging cream reviews should also explain the variations in results obtained. For example, a wrinkle cream may produce wonderful results in a person with oily skin; however it may not be equally beneficial to a person with dry skin.

Where can you read anti aging cream reviews? Well, there are several sources where you can read such reviews. These include online forums, health magazines, and fitness related web portals. Some cosmetic industry associations also publish anti aging cream reviews in their journals.

Anti-Aging Effect of Gluthathione

Glutathione is one of the most talked about beauty supplement now in Asia, Women who wants to make their skin whiter, and younger looking, wants to try Glutathione. Some people who are health conscious are skeptical about this new medicine, since this is a rather a new term for them.

Things you have to know about this Beauty and Anti-aging Supplement:

Glutathione is made from 3 non-essential amino acid (cysteine, glycine, and glutamic acid). This amino acid is found in the cell of nearly all living organism on earth, and its primary job is waste disposal.

Glutathione is a potent anti-oxidant. It binds to toxin in the liver, the body’s primary cleansing organ, and allow them to be flushed efficiently.

Those people who have heart disease, or have a high LDL (bad cholesterol)cholesterol level should raise their glutathione levels.

It is important to know that Glutathione is too big a molecule to digest, so we can’t take it as supplements! We can just therefore take cysteine, one of the major component of Glutathione.

Glutathione level in the body drop as we age, and some other factors that can deplete it:

a. Chronic Disease (cancer, immune problems)
b. Overload of Rancid oils
c. Exposure to poison like pesticide
d. Birth control pills and hormone replacement therapy
e. Stress
f. Pollution
g. Pharmaceutical drugs like aspirin

Glutathione passes the waste product it accumulate to antioxidants like Vitamin E, C, A and Minerals like Selenium, Copper, Zinc to do the cleanup work, therefore deficiency from this antioxidants can impair the work of Glutathione.

Best Under Eye Wrinkle Creams - Find Out What Works

Most of us, at some point in our lives, make the decision to choose an anti-aging skin cream for ourselves and hope for the best. Right now the top anti-aging skin creams are Hydroderm, Lifecell, Lush and Revitol Anti Aging Solution.

Hydroderm's line of anti-aging skin creams consist of Vyo-Serum and marine collagen. Typically collagen is a protein that is too heavy to pass through the pores of your skin (this is what makes it so popular for plastic surgery). Hydroderm, however, is made of a protective outer layer that is designed to keep a person's skin fresh while the "hydroderm infusion delivery system" allows the rest of the vyo-serum to be absorbed. Vyo-serum is a serum that is made up of proteins that encourages the face to tighten while it moisturizes the face. Hydroderm is a very popular product and this is partly due to its widely varied product line. Hydroderm makes products for both genders, all skin types and all ages.

Lifecell is another line of anti wrinkle skin cream that is very popular. The Lifecell Company likes to boast that its products can fix the signs of aging (like wrinkles, age-spots, dark circles and puffiness) and decrease the need for plastic surgery. Lifecell is made up of ingredients that have all been tested and proven to fight the skin conditions that speed up the look of aging. These ingredients are what will help Lifecell to restore the skin's "youthful glow" by tightening the pores. You would be amazed what a little bit of skin tightening can do for your appearance. Simply reducing the size of your pores can take years off of your appearance!

Lush also has a line of anti aging skin creams that are very popular on today's market. Lush boasts a one hundred percent natural ingredient list. Oh yes, you could eat lush if you got desperate enough for sustenance. Some of the ingredients used in Lush are soy butter, green tea and wheatgrass. Revitol Anti Aging Solution has also become very popular among testers and clinicians. Revitol's line of anti wrinkle skin creams fight lines and wrinkles, smooth the skin, lighten spots and dark circles and hydrates.

These are just a few of the skin creams that are available on the market today. Choosing the right one for you should take no time at all!

Top 10 Anti Aging Foods

The general guidelines for the anti-aging diet are to keep your calorie consumption and saturated fat intake down, eat plenty of wholegrains, oily fish and fresh fruit and vegetables; and cut down on salt and sugar. In addition to these general guidelines, there are specific foods that have a roll in anti-aging and that you should regularly include in your diet.

Avocado:

This fruit is an excellent source of healthy monounsaturated fat that may help to reduce level of a bad type of cholesterol in body. Avocado is a good source of vitamin E and can help to maintain healthy skin and prevent skin aging (vitamin E may also help alleviate menopausal hot flushes). It is rich in potassium which helps prevent fluid retention and high blood pressure. It is nice to cut in half, remove the stone, sprinkle with lemon juice and eat that way! Or it is also great cut up in salad.

Berries:

All black and blue berries such as blackberries, blueberries, blackcurrants and black grapes contain phytochemicals known as flavonoids-powerful antioxidants which help to protect the body against damage caused by free radicals and aging.

Green vegetables:

Broccoli, spinach, lettuce, salad leaves and other such greens are highly beneficial for the body. They help to keep the body weight low and also help fight toxins.

Garlic:

Eating a clove of garlic a day (row or cooked) helps to protect the body against cancer and heart disease. The cardioprotective effects of garlic are well recorded. It has been suggested that garlic reduced cholesterol levels and assisted blood thinning more effectively than aspirin, thus helping to reduce the risk of heart disease.

Ginger:

This spicy root can boost the digestive and circulatory systems, which can be useful for older people. Ginger may also help to alleviate rheumatic aches and pains. Ginger keeps bowel movement in shape, thereby enabling good gut health.

Nuts:

Most varieties of nuts are good sources of minerals, particularly walnuts and brazil nuts. Walnuts, although high in calories, are rich in potassium, magnesium, iron, zinc, copper and selenium. Adding nuts to your diet can enhance the functioning of your digestive and immune systems. They are particularly nice sprinkled on salad!

Soya:

Menopausal women might find that soya helps to maintain oestrogen levels. Soya may alleviate menopausal hot flush and protect against Alzheimer's disease, osteoporosis and heart disease. Soya should not be confused with soya sauce, which is full of salt and should be used sparingly, if at all.

Whole meal pasta and rice:

Complex carbohydrates provide a consistent supply of energy throughout the day and should make up the bulk of your diet. Wholemeal pasta is an excellent complex carbohydrate. It is high in fibre and contains twice the amount of iron as normal pasta. Brown rice is another recommended complex carbohydrate, which is high in fibre and B vitamins.

Watermelon:

Both the flesh and seeds of the watermelon are nutritious so try blending them together in a food processor and drinking as a juice. They help against free radical damage and aging.

Water:

Drink at least 8 glasses of water every day in order to remain healthy. Water helps us to get rid of the toxins and unwanted waste materials from your body. Don't rely on thirst; this sensation diminishes with age. Drink often and choose from nutritious liquids, including 100% fruit and vegetable juices, skim or low fat milk, broths, sparkling water, and teas. You can also get fluids from foods, especially those that are liquid at room temperature. Try gelatin, frozen yogurt, soups, watermelon, pickles, oranges, lettuce, tomatoes, etc.

Anti-Aging with Resveratrol

Antioxidant seems to be the "in" word at the moment, and probably will be for some time to come. Everywhere we turn we see products claiming to have antioxidant properties, more people are changing their diets to include additional antioxidants, etc. Antioxidants, skin care and anti-aging definitely go hand-in-hand, as aging is due to free radicals - antioxidants fight free radicals. Free radicals occur from the environments pollutants, refined foods, the lack of eating the right foods, as well as others.

Those who are interested in proper skin care and anti-aging must find ways of fighting free radicals by increasing the amount of antioxidants. There are several products and supplements on the market today that could keep you looking and feeling younger. One such product, Resveratrol, is reported to be not only an antioxidant but also very beneficial to the heart.

Resveratrol is the main dietary source in wine and more particularly in the skin of the red grapes. It is also found in various edible species of plants, peanuts, raspberries, mulberries, blueberries, cranberries, plums and some pines. Studies show that the French who drink a lot of red wine have less heart disease, however the rates of cirrhosis are much higher due to the alcohol intake, compared with Americans. The great news about resveratrol is that everyone can benefit without the calories or alcohol.

Much research has been conducted in regards to resveratrol in the beneficial effects to humans. As well as being proven beneficial for the heart it also reduces the formation of blood clots, it opens arteries, helps prevent cancer, is an antioxidant, has anti-inflammatory properties, and stops the oxidation of bad cholesterol.

Although there are no known side-effects of resveratrol at this time, research is ongoing worldwide prior to taking any new medication or supplement, you should consult with your doctor. Resveratrol can be taken as a supplement to help you maintain overall health as well as an antioxidant for anti-aging and healthy skin.

GenF20 Provides An Option In Anti Aging

There are many products that claim to reduce or slow down aging, but how many are actually worthy of your attention? Looking at it this way, aging is something that affects all humans after a certain age, and yet, what are the options available to them? Can aging be successfully combated in the first place? Although GenF20 HGH is one the products that claim to do so, it is useful to get a bird's eye view of aging, first of all.

Let's look at the aging process. Aging is caused by the body following its hard coded genetic blueprint within the cells, and the rate of this aging process differs from individual to individual. However, the body is geared to live, and if given half of a chance, will do everything within its power - to live. That is why you may have heard of cancer patients given a new lease of life, after they underwent an intensive anti cancer program, and managed to successfully cure their cancer. It didn't matter if their ancestors had died of cancer; they fought back, and lived. The body does not remember its past, because that is the nature of life in general.

Therefore similarly, aging is not something that is a foregone conclusion. Some circles even now regard aging as a disease. Given half a chance, you can do much to affect the aging process, and your body should respond accordingly. If you smoke too much, or drink too much, you set off a chain reaction in your body; in this case, for bad. Conversely, if you lead a healthy lifestyle, eat nutritious food, exercise, and get enough rest, your body will also respond accordingly; in this case, for good.

Scientists now believe that aging is caused largely by the gradual decline in production, of the Human Growth Hormone (HGH) in the body. Although the peak years of HGH production are in the early years right until the mid twenties, for some reason, the production of HGH by the pituitary gland slows down from around age 25-30, and never gets restored to its original level. Something in the pituitary turns off, resulting in decreased HGH output.

With hormones like testosterone or estrogen, supplementing them simply means undergoing a hormone replacement therapy. With HGH though, it is not so easy. The hormone is the largest hormone in the body, and it can only be injected in order to get it into the body. Problem is, HGH injections are expensive and risky to undergo. The hormone is an important hormone with wide ranging effects, and imprudent supplementation can easily lead to health risks.

GenF20 HGH overcomes those problems by getting the pituitary to produce HGH via natural means. It is a HGH releaser, and works like a nutritional supplement, inducing the pituitary to produce more, slowly and gradually. GenF20 consists mainly of natural amino acids which work in synergy to provoke a response from the pituitary gland. It has been established that the pituitary responds to amino acid intake, provided it is in a large enough dosage, and in the right proportion. Simply taking a lot of protein will not produce the desired effect.

In the fight against aging, GenF20 is one of the options which are known to work, namely by inducing the pituitary to "release" HGH. The other would be direct injections. As mentioned earlier, if you give your body what it needs, it will respond accordingly. The body is geared to live, and it will gladly do so, if given the proper resources. So, GenF20 should be regarded like a nutritional supplement, and worked in with a proper fitness and diet program. It's time to say "no" to aging, and live longer, and better.

Denzel Yoes is a writer and fervant believer in anti aging therapies to improve the quality of life. He has been evaluating various HGH products for some time now and practices regular fasting together with HGH supplementation with products like GenF20 HGH to stay young and fit for as long as possible, in order to be ready for the next anti aging research advancements on the horizon. He reviews GenF20 and looks at growth hormones extensively at his site http://www.genf20-hgh-review.com

Why Use Anti Aging Eye Creams

Aging doesn't only come with extra years on your age, but with extra baggage on your body, especially on your face. No matter how much people lie about their age, wrinkles, eye bags and dark circles, tell the reality – that is why most people just can't help but hoard on every effective antiaging eye cream they can get their hands on.

The eyes do not lie. The skin around the eyes are usually thin and lack oil glands or fats. This means that there is no protection to the eyes from external factors that can affect the skin around it. Blood vessels around it become obvious when you rub, blink, smile or squint your eyes because these actions thins out the skin. The distinctiveness of the blood vessels makes the skin appear much darker.

Likewise, we also develop wrinkles around our eyes as the skin dries much faster in that area. This can be because, as we age, the production of collagen and elastin – the stuff that makes the skin tight – lessens.

For these reasons, it is advised that you use anti-aging creams over a long-term period. Women, as early as 20 years-old, can start using anti-aging and eye wrinkle creams even before they see any signs of aging – the earlier you prevent them, the better.

Your usual facial or moisturizer is not suitable for the skin area around your eyes. This is because it may be too heavy for this delicate part of your face. Skin problems like milia, which is white bumps under the skin, may appear and is quite unsightly.

Anti-aging eye creams are specifically designed to provide extra moisture and protection to the skin cells particular to the eye area, without them irritating or harming the eye itself. Clearly, they are your best bet for getting rid of those unsightly wrinkles and dark circles.

The best eye wrinkle creams are the ones that do not only rid the face of wrinkles, but also [remove the dark circles under the eyes], as well as puffiness. This is because these eye creams are made to be used for keeping the blood vessels under the eyes strengthened, provide moisture and elasticity, and prevent aging by aiding in the production of new cells.

Most anti-aging eye creams contain Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) which removes dead skin , allowing for new skin cells to be produced. AHA works well with other antioxidants to prevent and repair aging problems. These help rejuvenate the skin by reducing damage to collagen and free radicals.

Applying under eye dark circle creams continuously over a long term period is best. Eye wrinkle creams, with their moisturizing properties, work to keep the skin firm and [remove the dark circles under the eyes] by replenishing the skin with vitamins, more importantly Vitamins A and D which are lost due to constant sun exposure.

Should you use under eye dark circle creams or gels? Gels are good for those with puffy eyes in the morning while creams are especially useful for those with dry skin. Just follow the instructions and apply as directed.

The use of anti-aging eye creams can never be too early. As soon as you feel that your skin is starting to age, start using these creams – it is guaranteed to be well worth the effort.

Microcurrent Facial Toning - What is it - How Does it Work

As "baby boomers" age, more advancements are being made in anti-aging products to meet their needs. Electronic facial machines, which are designed to tighten and tone sagging facial muscles, are no exception.

The latest facial toning machines use "microcurrent" technology and are one of the hottest things in the anti-aging industry right now. There's a good reason that these machines are so popular. Using microcurrent impulses, they give almost instant, visible results to tighten, tone, and firm aging skin. In fact, the results from microcurrent facial toning are so dramatic that they are often referred to as "non surgical face lifts".

Just how does microcurrent facial toning work? To understand that, we first need to understand what causes our facial skin to wrinkle and sag. As we age, our muscles become accustomed to certain expressions and tend to "stick" in these positions. A great example of this is the furrow between the eyebrows that many people get. At the same time, other muscles in our face are hardly ever used, and they begin to atrophy, which leads to sagging. An example of this can often be seen around our jaw lines, chins and necks where we tend to develop sagging or loss of definition as we get older.

Microcurrent facial toning machines sends safe, painless impulses to the muscles in your face that help overly-tightened muscles to relax and helps under worked muscles to regain strength. In essence, microcurrent facial toning "re-educates" the facial muscles and restores them back almost to their original shape.

When this happens the visible results are quite dramatic and the face is lifted, firmed and toned back to a much more youthful appearance. At the same time, the microcurrents improve circulation to your face which stimulates production of collagen, improves tone and texture, and improves or eliminates fine lines.

Besides the fact that it really works, one of the things that makes microcurrent facial toning so popular is that most people see visible results after just a single treatment. This gives "instant gratification" which is seen so rarely as a result of other anti-aging products or techniques. In fact, the results are so noticeable that if you only treat half your face one time you can see a visible difference between the half you treated and the half you didn't.

Microcurrent facial toning is cumulative as well, which means that the more treatments you have, the more improvement you will see in your face. The treatments are rather expensive, at an average cost of $110/treatment. Most people get at least 7-12 treatments to get their desired results.

Although microcurrent facial toning is the current "buzzword" in anti-aging, the technology is not new. It has over 50 years of historical data and clinical trials that back up its anti-aging benefits. That's great piece of mind that shows not only will it work, but also that it is safe and does not have long term side effects.

Microcurrent facial toning is a great alternative to getting a face lift since it is non-invasive, does not require any recovery time, gives instant results, and does not have the same potential for harmful complications as surgery does.

Currently, there is only one true microcurrent facial toning machine for home use on the market that I am aware of. It is called NuFace and is a lower cost alternative to getting treatments at a spa or salon, while still delivering the same facial tightening and toning. You can learn more about the NuFace home microcurrent facial toning system at http://nufacereview.s1so.com

Tighten Sagging Faces With Facial Exercise

Seeing a sagging, less youthful face looking back at you in the mirror can cause your psyche to do a double take … all of a sudden your confidence leaves you as you realize that your jaw line is no longer firm and taut. You see slackness that cannot be disguised. The heavy, droopy eyelids, the cheeks that are sliding downward and that developing double chin are all tell-tale signs that age is showing on your face.

This scenario is very common. It happens to celebrities and it happens to ordinary people like you and me.

Many people succumb to the hype of surgery, laser and injections. They are more than willing to use artificial means to attempt to give Mother Nature the proverbial boot.

Usually when a person begins using injections to smooth, fill or paralyze fine lines and wrinkles, they have made a decision that will forever change their faces and perhaps even long-term good health. After all, do you really know all the ingredients in that syringe?

Having a needle stuck in your face every few weeks over and over, year after year, does not equate to aging well. Does it?

Preserving a youthful face has been the desire of most women and some men since the beginning of time. Creams, lotions, and other preparations have been used for centuries in hopes of curtailing the march of time across aging faces.

There are some pretty amazing topical skincare items in the market today but unfortunately they cannot stop the muscles from lengthening, dragging down and misshaping the skin and facial features.

Even after years of using the finest topical skincare products, skin loses its tone and elasticity resulting in an old looking, soft face. The muscles in the face attach directly to the skin so when the muscles become flabby from dis-use, the skin tone then is spongy and lifeless.

If you are like most consumers' surgery and injections scare you, and rightfully so; when aging is evident, sometimes desperate people take desperate means that fool with Mother Nature.

Wearing a healthy face – no sagging or droopiness in evidence is possible. Just as exercise is used to realize better muscle tone and sleekness in the body there are specialized resistance exercises that will produce the same type of results for the face.

Many good things happen to faces that are exercised. Increased circulation immediately de-stresses the features as the forehead, cheeks and eyes receive long needed lifting.

The most noticeable quality of an exercise face lift means tired muscles begin to plump up with oxygenated blood; the action of contraction affects the skin and it, too, feels and looks firmer and tighter.

The entire face and neck can be lifted, toned and tightened just like the body.

Take a look at your eyes. Hold a mirror at eye level and be honest: Do you see one or two tired, hooded eyes looking back at you? Do your eye lids feel heavy?

The very delicate area around your eyes can be traumatized by the weight of the forehead muscle pushing downward into the eye brows and then the eye lids. This compression causes crows' feet as the forehead muscle elongates into first the upper eyes and over time, the compression will affect the lower eyes as well.

Rather than fall prey to the hype that surgery and injections are the only options available, think exercise. Facial exercise will lift the sagging brows and forehead, create a wider area between the eye lashes and eye brows and put the sparkle back in your eyes.

Surgery and injections are not quick fixes. They are temporary at best. Recovery time and other issues such as infection, loss of sensation, disappointment, excessive bruising and scarring, nerve damage and prolonged healing need to be considered.

Exercise is natural, it's easy and the results will far out-rival the liquid or surgical facelift. Your face will look young and vibrant – your confidence will soar.

Can Laser Light Rejuvenation Diminish The Signs Of Aging

Laser treatments are fast becoming a very widespread service offered within the medical and paramedical community. These treatments are used to rejuvenate the look of old, dry and wrinkled skin areas that may be affecting the way a person feels and acts in their everyday life. The laser treatments can smooth out wrinkles and minimize other signs of aging like sunspots and other skin conditions that the person may want to be rid of. By using the laser to carefully and painfully burn away the top layer of old and 'dead' skin cells, the laser treatments allow the softer and more vibrant layer of skin cells to show through.

These laser treatments are being carried out in virtually every city in the world through hospitals and private clinics. The popularity of the treatment and the results it gives has become tied to certain celebrity skin care regimens. Because of this, many people want the treatments in order to emulate the way some of their idols look or at least the way they take care of their skin. The treatments themselves require very little in the way of recovery and downtime and the healing process is getting shorter every year as new and improved methods are tried and perfected by the professionals who administer the treatments.

Most people have the laser treatments carried out around their eyes and mouth to help remove the worst of the wrinkles they find. There are generally only some areas of mild swelling and redness following the treatments, which is only to be expected after the top layer of skin, is literally burned off by the laser. Some after-treatment suggestions include staying out of direct sunlight for the first six months following treatment, or if this can't reasonably be expected to occur, the patient should at least wear a strong sunscreen formula.

The lasers themselves, in the hands of competent and highly trained professionals, can be manipulated as precisely as any surgical scalpel. Many patients find that after a laser treatment their skin feels very tight. This sensation is due to the skin layer being bonded together by the laser and the feeling fades as the skin heals to become smoother and more youthful looking. The sensation after a laser treatment has been compared to having a sunburn.

Some people, who have an abundance of freckles or other skin marks, may choose to have them treated by the laser. Usually carried out at a clinic, the laser treatment sake very little time to perform as a rule depending on the area of skin being treated. In many cases, the patient is up and out of the clinic within a few hours with hardly more than a few days of recovery time ahead of them. Because of the natural elasticity that most people have in their skin, the time between the treatments and when the skin becomes more smooth and supple, is relatively short. Applying moisturizing lotions and sunscreen and staying out of direct sunlight are the main rules to live by after the treatments are over.

The Institute of Cosmetic Surgery offers patients the gold-standard of laser cosmetic surgery technology. Cosmetic laser surgery can erase facial lines, wrinkles, and skin blemishes for a more youthful appearance.

The Anti-Aging Effects of Protein

Protein is the chief building material of your body. Eighteen per cent of your total body weight is pure protein. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, then approximately 27 pounds of you are pure protein that needs constant repairing, replacing and rebuilding-with more protein, of course. If you were to analyze a single cell taken from any part of your body-a hair in your head, the tissue in your heart, the lining of your intestines, the muscles in your legs- you would find this tiny cell composed chiefly of protein. And, like the parts of any constantly operated, non-resting machine, your body cells are continually wearing out, needing repairs or replacements. So what are you going to do? Patch up your protein body cells with carbohydrates? Just try patching a rubber tire on your car with flour-and-water paste, and see how far you'll get! Protein should be the featured food in your diet at all times.

The perpetual-motion human machine must have abundant protein every day in order to repair, replace and renew worn-out cells in every part of your body. When you don't supply enough high-protein foods in your daily diet to make certain that these vitally needed cell repairs and replacements can go on without interruption, you're inviting old age to take over. In the laboratories, nutritional scientists and biochemists have proved that a diet poor in proteins hastens aging in the human body. I could cite you case after case of elderly persons, weakened by tea-and-toast diets to the point of imminent death, who have been restored to life and usefulness by gradually converting their meals to high-protein foods. Their weakened bodies gained new vigor, and their minds become keen and alert once more.

Nobody who has witnessed these recoveries, as I have, could ever deny that protein foods are truly nutritional wonders. A grievous error has been committed for many years by some medical men who ban high-protein foods such as red meats and cheese as "too heavy" for older digestions. Through this ignorance of the vital part protein plays in preserving youthfulness and maintaining life, such men have "prescribed" invalidism and premature death for many an older person who otherwise could have enjoyed many more years of an active, useful life. Protein foods are the main factor in prolonging youth for the past-forty group, and in maintaining physical vigor and mental alertness in the aged.

Several things start happening to your body cells as the calendar years begin slipping past the forty mark. Biologists tell us that "aging is a matter of changes in your tissue cells." First, the tissue cells in older bodies are less elastic, less resilient, less able to recover quickly from fatigue and injury than the cells in younger bodies. Second, the active cells in the older body (especially those in your glands and muscles) gradually grow fewer. Bearing in mind what I've already told you about the great restorative powers of protein on body cells (as evidenced by the case histories of those protein-starved elderly patients miraculously restored to life and usefulness), isn't it sheer logic that the more years you carry, the more repair material you need each day? And what is that "repair material" except food protein} The more enlightened of our physicians today recognize how wrong it is to eliminate high-protein foods from the diet of the average patient. Yet there still remain the diehard doctors who cling to the out-of-date theory that certain ailments such as arthritis, high blood pressure, certain kidney diseases, hardening of the arteries and diabetes mean "cutting down on," if not eliminating entirely, meat in the patient's diet.

There is the case of a thirty-nine-year-old woman, well known to me, who developed rheumatoid arthritis several years ago. Weighing all of a scant 105 pounds, she had dieted strenuously for years to keep from getting fat; she had existed mostly on tea and dry toast. Since becoming arthritic, her physician had kept her on a no-meat diet, his reasoning being that meat was "bad" for her condition. About the time I started writing this book, word reached me that she had collapsed from weakness and severe nutritional anemia and had been rushed to the hospital. This came as no surprise to me, for I had anticipated some such climax to her case in view of her "no-meat" diet. For days, while she remained in the hospital, she was given injections of various concentrated nutriments in an effort to overcome the anemia, and to give her strength enough to sit in a chair. I don't need to tell you that this woman, although only thirty-nine years old, looked a good twenty years older on the day she was taken to the hospital. A flagrant case of induced premature aging-induced by both her own senseless dieting and her doctor's ignorance.

Like most stories, this one has a sequel. Thanks to the common sense of the young doctor now in charge of her case, this woman is taking mineral capsules containing iron in order to build up her blood hemoglobin. Also, he has ordered her to eat three high-protein meals a day. When last I had word of her, she had recovered sufficient use of her swollen arthritic hands to do some sewing-and to wash the Venetian blinds in her home-all this in only three short months from the time she was carried to the hospital, a victim of extreme nutritional exhaustion.

But, as a rule, you cannot look to your doctor to help you stay young. He is a repair man, not a rejuvenator. Your determined campaign to retain the wonderful feeling of youth which seems to be slipping away should begin with your next meal-a meal built around protein. "How much protein? And what kind?" you ask. Which leads us to the old riddle: How much is enough?

Anti-Aging and Vitamins

Anti-aging skin care products are very popular today; and why not, who doesn't want to look young as long as possible? Several vitamins such as vitamin C, vitamin E, and several B vitamins are common in anti-aging skin care products. We'll discuss those in the paragraphs that follow.

Vitamin C is essential for the synthesis of collagen, a key structural protein of the skin. Adding vitamin C to a culture of skin cells dramatically increases the synthesis of collagen. Secondly, vitamin C acts as an antioxidant, protecting cells from natural destruction that occurs with aging. When vitamin C is properly delivered into skin cells, there is a good chance to reduce wrinkles and improve skin texture. The normal Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of vitamin C is 250-1,000 mg. Vitamin C should be taken 2-3 times a day to get the best results because it is water-soluble and is quickly excreted by our kidneys. If you eat fruits or vegetables every day; especially citrus fruits, broccoli, leafy greens, red and green peppers, your vitamin C intake should be where you need it to be.

Many researchers and anti-aging physicians would agree that Vitamin E is probably the most important vitamin to help slow down the aging process. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble anti-oxidant that is found in human blood and helps the body build resistance against infection. Vitamin E appears highly effective in preventing heart disease and protecting cells from natural destruction that occurs with aging. Vitamin E also is helpful in preventing blood clots and inhibiting cancer. The RDA of Vitamin E is 25 International Units (I.U.), but the optimum dose is 400 I.U. in order to help prevent artery disease. Great sources of Vitamin E are vegetable oil, margarine, meats, nuts, and leafy greens.

B vitamins help to maintain healthy skin tone. They are also helpful in relieving anxiety and stress. Stress can be bad for skin because it is known to be a cause of acne. The B vitamins should always be taken together. The vitamins in the B complex are Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin (Nicotinic Acid, Niacinamide), Pantothenic Acid, Pyridoxine and Cyanocobalamin. Each one of these vitamins has a specific role in promoting healthy skin, as well as overall health. Chicken, fish, pork, liver, eggs, spinach, potatoes, bananas, whole wheat bread, peanut butter are just few of the foodsthat contain ample amounts of B vitamins.

The field of anti-aging skin care products is vast and needs a lot of research. Though the currently available products are effective, they still have challenges to combat. However, anti-aging skin care products should be used only as a supplement to the natural ways of skin and body care. Be sure to drink a lot of water, get plenty of sleep, exercise regularly, maintain healthy eating habits and keep stress at a low level to ensure you are doing what you can to help delay the aging process. No anti-aging skin care product can replace these healthy natural habits.

Arthritis - Learning If You Have The Signs Of Arthritis

A sudden twinge in an elbow, shoulder, knee or another joint is probably not arthritis. Most forms of arthritis develop slowly, striking first in the hands.

Instead, you've probably irritated the soft tissue around the joint. This ailment--really a family of ailments including bursitis, tendinitis and carpal tunnel syndrome--calls for a slightly different approach to treatment than arthritis.

Arthritis sufferers endure more days in severe pain, experience more days with limited ability to perform daily activities, and have more difficulty performing personal-care routines than people without arthritis. As with other chronic pain conditions, arthritis has negative effects on mental health.

Soft-tissue inflammation is not a natural consequence of aging. Most cases can be traced to excessive exercise...or to a job-related activity involving repetitive motion. The pain is usually apparent within 24 hours of overuse. It can range from a dull ache to shooting pain.

COMMON SOFT-TISSUE INJURIES

Rotator cuff tendinitis affects the tendons that hold the shoulder joint in place. Common among swimmers and other athletes, this ailment can make it hard to get dressed or lie down.

Shoulder bursitis--very common among gardeners and house painters--is caused by repeated pressure on shoulder bursae, fluidfilled "cushions" that protect the joints. It becomes painful to move the arm away from the body.

Tennis elbow strikes carpenters, gardeners, mechanics, dentists...and tennis players who use poor form or a tightly strung racket. The pain makes it hard to shake hands or ligt a briefcase.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is an inflammation of tissue surrounding the median nerve of the hand. Symptoms include weakness, pain, burning or aching in the wrist and/or hand. Usually caused by repeated hand motions, like those used by checkout clerks, seamstresses and computer operators.

Prepatellar bursitis involves inflammation of the bursa in front of the kneecap (patella). It is common in people who must stand or kneel for extended periods. The pain is rarely severe.

Shin splints involve pain in the front of the lower leg. Most cases are caused by repetitive exercise--especially running on hard surfaces. This can injure muscle and tendon tissue.

Achilles tendinitis--inflammation of the Achilles tendon--is common among basketball and squash players and runners(especially those who run on concrete or in flimsy shoes). Symptoms include pain, swelling and tenderness in the heel.

Plantar fascitis involves a tear in the ligament connecting the arch to the heel. It causes a burning pain on the sole of the foot and the heel, making it painful to walk or stand on your toes. Common among runners.

Trochanteric bursitis is inflammation of the bursa near the hip. Symptoms include pain in the hip and thigh, especially when you walk, rise from a chair or lie on the affected side.

Imagine your life without joint & muscle pain. How to Start a Natural Colon Cleansing Diet

Numerous ways are available for the cleaning of the colon with the help of a natural colon cleansing diet. To start with a natural colon cleansing diet is amongst the simplest. Another easy type of the natural colon cleansing diet is by fast. Fasting involves not drinking and eating anything except water for a particular period. In the event of a fast, the methodology of the body in getting rid of the toxic materials gets accelerated.

The last step is the breaking of the fast with the help of the fruits and vegetables. It is the high fiber contained in the vegetables and the fruits, which help in the cleaning out of the accumulated toxins and the loosened old fecal matter, which are deposited in the event of fasting. Fasting can last several days. It is important for an individual to realize the time of stopping and listen to the body.

Intake of Juices: Natural colon cleansing diet with the help of the juice is very much like a fast. To deprive the body of salts, fats and the processed foods helps in cleaning the colon. However, this is mostly done with the addition of drinking high fiber juice in a good quantity. One of the most powerful cleansing juices is the prune juice. This is largely because of the high fiber quantity. However, any juice which has a fiber would be sufficient.

It is essential that an individual bewares himself of the kid’s juices which are devoid of any sort of fiber. It is essential to read the labels, prior to the purchase of any juice for the natural colon cleansing diet.

The natural colon cleansing diet was established on the doctrines of Sylvester Graham, Weston Price, Dr. Christopher Giran Cursio, Dr Ben Kim, Dr. V.V. Vetrano, Dr. Stanley Bass, Norman Walker and Herbert M Shelton, who were the health reformers of the 19th and the 20th century.

Diet Schedule: Basically, the natural colon cleansing diet involves the maintenance of the healthy living and eating guidelines. An individual needs to moderately consume food and only those whole foods, in which 50% of the intake is of the vegetables and the fruits are eaten uncooked. Individuals need to drink at least 16 oz. of vegetable juices, which comprise of more than 20% of carrots. Intake of meat is also good. Organic and lean meat need to be given first priority.
Half an hour exercise from the cardio to weight training on alternate days would be beneficial. It is essential to get atleast 10 minutes of sunlight while exercising, which would give a boost to the levels of Vitamin D. Half an hour meditation would also help. In addition, it is better to consume filtered water during thirst.

The toxins and the impurities would be gotten rid of with the help of the natural colon cleansing diet, provided they are regularly used. It is essential to have a check with doctor prior to the beginning of any exercise or a natural colon cleansing diet program.

Silicon, The Amazing Anti-Aging Treasure

Silicon is a much overlooked trace element whose main function is to enhance the condition of certain body tissues such as bones, skin, brain, and blood vessels. It is needed for a healthy bone structure, normal growth, and the production of the connective tissue collagen, making it important for healthy nails, skin, hair and bones. That pretty much covers the gamut of the human body.

Louis Pasteur himself predicted that silicon would be an important aspect in the therapeutic treatment of many tissue diseases. Researchers and scientists have since then went on to show that what Pasteur envisioned is becoming fact.

In todays world of healthy aging remedies and gimmicks, this trace element, once assumed to be importance to animal life, is now showing its worth as a true, natural, anti-aging health product. Some of the deficiency symptoms are skin wrinkles, thinning or loss of hair, poor bone development and soft or brittle nails.

Silicon is not readily assimilated through natural food sources, although the supplement, Horsetail, has been known to be one of the highest natural sources of silicon. However, studies done on the absorption and retention of silicon through diet shows that about 41% of the silicon ingested is lost through the process of natural daily elimination. So the question is, given on the fact that silicon is proving to be so vital to healthy bones, skin, blood vessels, and hairs, how does one get an optimum level of silicon into their body and keep it there? Very possibly, it would be eating more of the foods that are high in silicon content such as: flaxseed, steel cut oats, almonds, peanuts, sunflower seeds, onions, alfalfa, fresh fruit, brewers yeast, unrefined grains of high fiber content, root vegetables for just some.

4 Easy Ways to Eliminate Body Acne

The absolute biggest cause for acne formation is your own sweat. Sweat can clog skin pores and lead to breakouts all over. This may sound a bit surprising, however there are other simple thing that cause acne formation.

1) To zap body acne and prevent it from coming back, you should wash your body daily with a salicylic acid based soap. These can be found in almost any supermarket.

2) Shower daily and be sure to shower as soon as possible after you have been sweating. A few good examples are, after playing sports, working outside, or just being in the sun for a long period of time. After your shower, you can follow up with using a body moisturizer that contains Alfa Hydroxy acid. This will exfoliate and help prevent breakouts while keeping your skin hydrated.

3) At Nighttime you can treat body acne just like facial acne. Apply an acne zapping gel or cream at any effected section of your body.

4) If your body acne is particularly bad and will not respond to any treatment after about a month, you should see a dermatologist as soon as possible.

A few other examples are tight fitting clothing, stress, and hormones. Tight fitted clothing tends to cling to your skin very tightly and trap the sweat in your pores. Often times this leads to blemishes and visible skin rashes. This can also lead to body acne popping up on your chest and back. For some this will look as though you have been on steroids. It is a highly unpleasant sight.

Use Carnitine As A Versatile Anti-Aging Nutrient

L-carnitine is a compound derived from lysine, one of the eight essential amino acids required by the body. Although it is often described as a vitamin, L-carnitine is better thought of as a micronutrient which can be manufactured within the body. Dietary sources are important, however, because the amount of L-carnitine required by the body may sometimes exceed its ability to produce it.

The very name "carnitine" is derived from the Latin "carnus", which also of course gives us the term "carniverous". So it should be no surprise that red meat is the richest food source of this nutrient. 3 oz of beef steak, ground beef or mince will typically provide around 80 mg of L-carnitine; a similar serving of pork or bacon perhaps 20-25 mg. For those unable or unwilling to consume red meat, other sources are unfortunately much less productive. A half pint glass of milk may provide 8mg, fish 5mg and lean chicken a mere 3 mg. Non-animal foods are a relatively poor source of L-carnitine.

Conventional medical wisdom, however, is that even vegetarians should be able to produce enough L-carnitine from their diets to avoid symptoms of deficiency. But as always in matters of nutrition, the avoidance of deficiency is not at all the same thing as the achievement of optimum health.

So alternative practitioners and advocates of nutritional therapy are ever keen to stress the potential benefits of supplementation with the acetyl–L-carnitine form of this compound, which is much the most easily absorbed. Acetyl-L-carnitine has been hailed as an anti-oxidant, as a weapon in the treatment of both chronic and acute heart disease, as an aid to the production of energy, and as a boost for cognitive function.

Although the evidence is not yet clear cut, it has been suggested that acetyl-L-carnitine may play a role in reducing the production of the stress hormone, cortisol, an over supply of which is implicated as a factor in premature ageing and its associated diseases. It is believed that too much cortisol may suppress levels of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), the key adrenal hormone, lavish levels of which are believed to help protect against the degenerative diseases commonly associated with ageing in the affluent West. Levels of DHEA begin to decline from about the early twenties onwards, just as levels of cortisol begin to rise, potentially creating a vicious circle of bodily decline.

Supplementing the diets of laboratory rats with acetyl-L-carnitine has been shown to increase tissue levels of L-carnitine, which are known to decline naturally with age, and to improve the metabolism of energy within the cell mitochondria. This research has generated considerable interest, although conventional medicine is not yet persuaded of its long term implications, if any, for human health, pending the results of the large scale clinical trials which are planned.

The evidence is much more clear cut, however, for L-carnitine's role in tackling heart disease. A number of studies have indicated that L-carnitine supplementation may be effective in restricting the damage to the heart muscle that typically follows a myocardial infarction (heart attack) and in improving the survival rates and exercise tolerance of those suffering from progressive heart failure or angina.

Research also suggests that L-carnitine supplementation in the form of acetyl-L-carnitine may slow the advance of Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia in the elderly. Nutritional therapists also claim that such supplementation can enhance memory and other cognitive function in healthy young adults; a claim that conventional medicine is of course reluctant to accept.

One potential problem with carnitine supplementation, however, is that absorption rates are relatively poor; only up to around 20% as opposed to perhaps 75% from L-carnitine from food sources. Acetyl-L-carnitine, however, is much the easiest to absorb, and supplements in this form are readily available and recommended by some authorities in quantities of between 500 and 1,000 mcg; so that even at low rates of absorption a plentiful supply may be obtained. As already noted, carnitine is a perfectly natural substance, manufactured in the body, and supplementation in these kind of quantities has not been shown to give rise to any side effects other than minor gastric upset in rare cases.

So as ever, the sensible and cost effective precaution appears to be to combine supplementation with a normal daily diet already well supplied with foods rich in acetyl-L-carnitine.

3 Easy Steps to Slow Your Aging and Avoid Being a Sicko Statistic

The movie Sicko has opened awareness to the difficulties baby-boomers might face with their health. This distress can be a call to action to be more proactive about successful aging. As a former cancer research professional working with human calls I can vouch for the resiliency of well fed cells. However, human cells will get sickly if their specific food requirements are altered by rhythm or nutrients.

The haphazard eating habits and reliance on fast food stripped of nutrients can result in the diseases that now plague aging Americans. This has caused insurance companies to throw in the towel, in the face of "preexisting conditions" leaving sick people without medical health solutions. After the battle field clears we will still be faced with the responsibility to take care of our aging.

Here are 3 very effective things you can do to slow your aging.
1. Choose fruits and vegetables that have natural enzymes that seriously aid digestion and absorption of nutrients. This slows aging. To get full enzymes activity from fruit, they should be eaten fresh. Consider cherries but not cherry pie; make a strawberry smoothie or salad but serve the strawberry ice cream to the grand kids. Vitamin C is important in keeping an aging immune system alert. Eat vitamin C from fresh citrus instead of supplements or sugary juice drinks. Make it easy on your cells to act for you...

2. Choose a variety of yellow, orange, red and green vegetables everyday. Eat yourself younger with vegetables that have antioxidants that support aging organ systems like your heart, kidneys and lungs. You don't have to remember a string of strange antioxidants. The color of vegetables indicates the type of antioxidant they carry. Some vegetables like tomatoes release more of their antioxidants when they are cooked. So we are not talking a raw food diet here.

3. Drastically decrease your sugar servings and increase your fiber from whole grains, beans and peas. This is called lowering your glycemic load. Glycemic is a word associated with blood sugar. Thus, you should lower the amount of food you eat that contains sugar or turns into sugar quickly after being eaten. Everyday foods that release sugar quickly include white potatoes, bread with less than 3gms or more of fiber, crackers, and doughnuts and most processed boxed breakfast cereals with less than 7gm. of fiber. Read Labels and find out more from The Glucose Revolution by Jennie Brand-Miller et al.

Eat often. Seriously adjust your portion size to accommodate your age, digestive and absorption level. If you are gaining weight as you age all you might have to do is adjust your portion size. Eat small meals and nutritious snacks everyday and you are on your way out of the Sicko Zone.

Anti Aging Creams Are Mainly Meant For Women Though Men Too Are Using It

Steven Lin
anti-aging

With the amount of advertising on television, you would be forgiven for wondering whether the claims made by makers of anti-aging creams are real, or merely hype. These advertisements will have you believing that you will look young once more and that your wrinkles will be a thing of the past. The targeted audience no doubt is women though men too are being considered as potential customers especially when such products are sold as part of men’s grooming as well as skin care products by well-known brands including Zirh and Biotherm.

May Not Always Deliver On Its Promises

Basically, what you get from the anti-aging cream is a cosmetic product that, though they promise much, may generally not be able to deliver on all their promises. One of the main reasons why such products are advertised the way they are is because manufacturers of anti-aging creams know they can prey on what women fear most – looking old and worn out. In addition, such advertisements are also doing a disservice to science by claiming to be ‘scientifically proven’ solutions, which is really a characteristic of the placebo effect.

In any case, the majority of these anti-aging creams contain retinal, which in its various concoctions is supposed to provide users with a rejuvenated look thanks to its being able to stimulate the growth of skin cells while also reducing dark spots. In addition, they may use alpha hydroxy acids as well as beta hydroxy acids whose effect is that of peeling especially when they are used as chemical peels. These effects though are dependent on the concentration as well as how they are applied which means that the end result may not always be absolutely satisfactory.

One of the better known makers of anti-aging creams are Clinique whose line of products include everything concerning skin care including providing solutions for wrinkles and also lines, and the first Clinique product specifically formulated to combat aging came out in 1992 and this cream was called Stop Signs.

Another big name in the field of anti-aging creams is Olay whose product Olay Renegerist is supposed to be the best performing product according to tests performed by a consumer association. The company is famous for its slogan “love the skin you’re in".

Whatever brand of anti-aging cream you use, you will certainly derive benefits that can help in making you look young as well as feel good for many years to come. An anti-aging cream regimen can both prevent as well as repair your skin, and keep the skin from aging, and you should be early in choosing to treat your skin and start protecting it from unwanted wrinkles as well as aging lines by starting at as early a stage as possible.

Skin Cancer Warning Signs

What are the skin cancer warning signs and what can be done to help prevent skin cancer?

In recent years, a lot of attention has been focused on the prevention of skin cancer. Of course, skin cancer is not a new disease but as scientists have learned more about how to prevent it, they realized that early detection is the key. It is important, therefore, that people are aware of what they can do to prevent skin cancer and what to keep an eye out for so that they can catch the cancer in time.

There are two main risk factors for skin cancer. The first is sun exposure. People who live in sunny areas, people who are continuously exposed to the sunlight, or people who were badly sunburned as children are all at a higher risk. Fair-skinned people are high risk as well. It is important that everyone be protected when they go out in the sun. Sunscreen should be worn all the time, even if the day seems cloudy or not that hot.

This is especially important for those with fair skin and for children. If you are going to be exposed to the sun for a long period of time, you should try to cover up as much skin as possible with hats, long pants, or jackets. Young children should always wear a wide-brimmed hat when playing out in the sun. The second component of skin cancer risk is genetic. Some people are just more apt to get skin cancer than others. There is nothing you can do about this, but if you know you are at a greater risk because of your family, you should be even more vigilant in checking for skin cancer warning signs.

There are several types of skin cancer, and they all present slightly different. Melanoma is one of the rarer skin cancers, but it is also the most deadly. Catching melanoma early is important, so everyone should make checks of their bodies on a monthly basis, just like a monthly breast exam is recommended for women. One way to remember the warning signs of melanoma is the mnemonic “ABCDE.” The A stands for asymmetrical. Check any moles on your body.

Asymmetrical moles could be malignant. B stand for border. If the border of the mole or mark looks irregular, then get it checked out. C stands for color. Moles that are multiple colors could be cancerous. D stands for diameter. If you have a mole that measures more than 5 mm, it is at greater risk for being a melanoma. E can stand for evolution or elevation. Evolution means how the mole has appeared over time. Has it changed color, shape, or size? This is a sign that cancer might be developing. Elevation means that mole is raised up above the skin. If you have any of these warning signs, you should make an appointment to see your doctor right away.

Skin cancer can present in different ways and a doctor will need to examine you to determine if a mole or area of skin needs to be checked further. A biopsy is usually done and the sample is checked for malignancy.

Early detection of skin cancer is important. Many doctors are including skin checks during yearly physicals. If you are concerned about an area of your body, discuss it with your doctor. They can let you know if more testing should be done.

Anti Aging Juice Recipe

A diet rich in vitamins and minerals can be a key factor in your fight against the aging process. One of the most pleasant and tasty ways to accomplish this is to consume foods that contain many of these vitamins and minerals such as fruits and vegetables. In the United States people rarely eat the amount of fruits and vegetables that will provide all the necessary vitamins and minerals in the fight against the aging process so a good juice recipe may be the answer.

Brightly colored fruits and vegetable usually have the best nutritional value. Flavonoids are the brightly colored pigments found in most fruits and vegetables. When consumed, they have antioxidant properties that have been associated with having good anti-aging properties.

Almost any type of fruit will have beneficial vitamins and minerals but choosing several fruits will be the most beneficial because different amounts of nutrition will be found in different fruits. Any different combinations of fruits can be used and the only limitation is your taste and seasonal availability.

Oranges, cherries, tangerines, apples, blueberries, cranberries, melons, bananas, plums, grapes, berries, kiwi, and mango would be a good choice to start with. Next try adding complimentary flavors such as strawberry and banana, apple and cranberries, orange and pineapple, mango, kiwi and grape. The search for the perfect juice recipes is never ending and should be attacked with gusto.

Vegetables are known to have great anti-aging benefits. Substances called Antioxidants can neutralize free radical by pairing up or binding with the free radical elections thus inhibiting them from damaging cells in the human body. Natural Antioxidants are abundant in vegetables such as carrots, squash, red and green cabbage, broccoli, spinach, and Spirulina a blue-green algae. If you do not like the flavors of some vegetables including them in an anti aging juice recipe can help disguise the flavor. These vegetables should be included in the daily diet and can easily be consumed in the juice.

Not getting enough fiber in your diet? Try adding wheat germ, flax, and even nuts to your perfect juice recipe. Oat bran muffins lower blood cholesterol among healthy college students by almost 10 percent. One of the great things about creating your own juice is that any kind of supplement can be added. Do you need to lower your cholesterol but do not like the flushing and tingling sensation that comes with taking Niacin tablets. Try blending niacin into your juice. The intake of 3 grams Niacin for as little as two weeks can reduce serum cholesterol by 26 percent.

How about adding a little spice to your life? Rosemary stimulated blood circulation and the nervous system and enhances memory and concentration. The ancient Greeks called it the Herb of Memory and they wore a stalk in their hair to increase memory. Garlic can counteract the usual result of high fats in the diet and to help reduce high blood pressure.

A little research and perhaps a visit to you healthcare professional that is specializing in anti aging medicine can help you decide on which supplements you should take. Supplements will usually have vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, hormones or other and can be blended in with the other ingredients of the anti aging juice recipe to increase its benefits.

Creating an anti aging juice recipe is fun and easy and will provide great health benefits to anyone who drinks them daily. Tofu, yogurt, eggs, wheat germ, flax, and other healthy foods can be added to your receipt and the only limitation is your imagination.

If you just feel that you need vitamins, supplements or herbs to fight the aging process then find a good health care professional prior to starting any type of home treatment.

Will You Live To Be 100

Many people write to me with questions about aging. Although I am certainly not a geriatric specialist, I do have some personal thoughts on how we might reduce the effects of aging. I do NOT believe that as we age, we automatically acquire age-related conditions. I believe that we induce them by not caring for ourselves as we should. Sure, some of our physical experiences are inherited, yet there is so much we can do to slow things down.

Number one in my book is: TO STAY LIMBER! First, keep your mind limber and THINK YOUNG! Always read, read, and read. Read materials that stretch your mind in ways that are unusual. If you always read novels of a certain kind, change things; read a scientific book, a book about cooking, chemistry, world history or archeology. Challenge both hemispheres of your brain; logical as well as the creative mind. Do crossword puzzles and math games. Balance your own checkbook. Memorize a poem, a grocery list, and move backward through your day to see if you can remember everything that you did. Don’t take a calculator out every time you need to add a column of numbers, and learn more about computers. It is also extremely important for people to continue to write, not just type; I mean a hand-written note. Handwriting creates a different mental response. Handwritten letters and thank you notes are all ways much appreciated by the recipient.

Be certain of course, that your body stays limber too. Most of you “work out” and some of you still play sports. Great! Do that, and also take up a new activity. When you experience anything new, the mind must also participate. Learn to dance, play golf, cross country ski, practice yoga or swim…whatever you choose, change your activities so that you have a wonderful mix of stretching, muscle strengthening, and aerobic exercise. It is really important to have fun! For those of you who are generations behind the Boomers, take these suggestions and use them early in life and you should be far ahead of us when you reach 50.

Eat a wide variety of foods. When you feel you have been eating too much junk food, don’t beat yourself up, just forgive yourself and start eating more live foods again, such as vegetables and fruits, raw seeds and nuts. You don’t have to do everything right all of the time. The body needs to learn as well. If you only ate perfect foods all of the time, the body’s signals would get sluggish. Once in a while our immune systems need to be stimulated. In a way, it is like the Tuesday morning Emergency Alert Systems that need to be tested just to be sure they work. So, let go of the guilt about having an ice cream cone, or a piece of cake. You must realize by now that moderation is the key to a wonderful life.

Choose the best foods available, be with people you enjoy as often as possible, play together, work hard enough to challenge your mind…and enjoy each day! Certainly take a good multi-vitamin/mineral supplement and other support elements such as antioxidants and compressed greens like Spirulina often. For those with digestive upsets include enzymes and definitely pro-biotics to keep the gut healthy. Add a little Omega rich foods like Flax Oil and Salmon and your joints will be happier. Keep a supply of purified water with you and stay hydrated.

If you are a Baby Boomer and wondering how long you have to live, click on the link below to calculate your estimated longevity. The great news is, if you have reached 50 years all ready, chances are you will be here to bounce great-grandchildren on your knee!

Now, if you really want to live a longer time, research shows that Hawaii is the place where people are outliving the rest of us in this country. New Mexico and Colorado residents are not far behind one of my favorite places in the world (Hawaii), but don’t move to West Virginia; for some reason they aren’t high on the list of people living upwards of 100. My guess is that the more beautiful your environment, he more trees, flowers, and water perhaps, the greater amounts of negative ions and oxygen in the air. My thought is this: If you can’t move for one reason or another, at least try to take vacations and visit the most beautiful places in the USA. How many of you have seen Yellowstone? The Grand Canyon? Hawaii? Colorado? Montana? California? Maine? Alaska? Oregon? You owe it to yourselves to check out the more simple and serene places right here in America.

For those of you that MUST know your potential lifespan, go to your favorite search engine and just type in longevity calculator. You will see several sites that have questionnaires that will help determine your longevity.

Wishing you many healthy and fun-filled years!

Collagen Pills | Anti Aging Treatments | Get Rid of Wrinkles With Collagen

Collagen Pills To Get Rid Of Wrinkles

Is there any proof to show that collagen takes care of wrinkles, lines, and other aging signs? Honestly speaking, there is no concrete proof to show that collagen does nothing more than providing moisture to the face. Collagen pills do not consist of the so-called ingredients that minimize or get rid of wrinkles, including protein.

It is wise to have further investigation before digesting pills claiming to remove or minimize wrinkles. Other anti aging treatment options are available on the marketplace that works to minimize or get rid of wrinkles without digesting pills.

In fact, new studies have shown that most anti aging treatments offered today do not have a fraction of the ingredients it claims to have, therefore consider your options before listening to ad slicks that mislead.

If you are trying to minimize or get rid of wrinkles, few anti aging treatments have proven more affected than other choices of anti aging creams, pills, et cetera.

When you were in your youth, you enjoyed wrinkle-free days, but as you aged, the lines and crowfeet began to develop. Now you feel it is time to find an anti aging treatment to gain back your youth.

The fact is, regardless of what anti aging treatment is available proclaiming to reduce or get rid of wrinkles, some of the wrinkles will remain in tact. The process of wrinkles is a natural process and nature cannot be stopped completely.

At what time you awaken as you grow sagging skin, wrinkles and other aging issues develop. Some people cover their face, and try to hide the wrinkles around the upper chest area. The need to look good continues even as you are in your fifties, in fact it increases.

Thus, people then begin to find anti aging treatments to minimize or to get rid of the wrinkles. Once you turn on the tube, visit the internet, or else go to the local stores trying to forget the wrinkles ads crop up that remind you over again that you are growing older.

The Body’s Label On Collagen Pills

The body’s label on Collagen pills tell us that supposedly there is a 100% of Collagen that works to improve the body’s protein, while enhancing the condition and texture of the skin, at the same time helping to get rid of wrinkles and fine lines, by restoring cellulite.

The label tells us the product is safe and natural to use. The collagen pills will also enhance the nails and hairs growth and appearance according to the distributors and manufacturers.

Ads On Collagen Pills

The ads demonstrate wrinkle free solutions, including collagen pill, which supposedly helps you to get rid of wrinkles. The collagen pills came out some time ago, thus it is a common ad you recognize.

In order to inquire or to purchase about the collagen pills, you might dial the 800 number. While listening to the sales pitch, you ignore the voices in your head that says where’s the proof that these collagen pills work to get rid of wrinkles.

Still, as you listen you allow the sales representative to talk you into the purchase. A few weeks down the road you might wonder, “Where is the proof that this stuff works?”

The fact is that you could reduce the odds of receiving overwhelming wrinkles if you reduce your frequency to the sun, or exclude your self from smoky environments.

Thus, reducing overexposure of sun, smoke, and other harmful environmental hazards that cause harm to your skin is one of the better anti aging treatment to get rid of wrinkles, over any product offered on the marketplace.

Collagen pills claim to present solutions to get rid of wrinkles by digesting rather than injecting the body by anti aging surgery. The pills are claimed to be more sufficient than common anti aging creams, lotions and/or gels. Collagen pills more often than not digested once daily.

Collagen pills furthermore supposedly improve life, moods, and the feeling of aging. The pills work to purge wrinkles, while supposedly giving the youthful appeal to your face. Furthermore, the pills are suppose to give you the renewal hope by freeing the face of wrinkles, since depression often comes along with aging, the pill is supposedly capable of making you feel worry-free.

Recent studies are showing coming straight from the Government, particularly pill form of anti aging treatments can lead to harm. As for creams, NICEL one of the few aging creams offered is a night renewal, and it does nothing in line or to get rid of wrinkles.

Anti Aging Therapy For Skin And Hair

Today's market contains many popular treatments for the anti aging process. You can buy a verity of minerals, vitamins, ointments, and lotions in the effort to look and feel younger. Some will provide some benefits and others will just drain your pocketbook. It is important to know and understand the effects of any anti aging therapy prior to starting any treatment.

Everyone has a genetic predisposition at to how they will age. Some people have a genetic predisposition that will cause their hair to turn gray in their early thirties while others will have a genetic predisposition to have a lot of wrinkles by the time they are fifty. Some aging will occur regardless of anti aging therapy and aging is a normal part of life but the trick is to age as gracefully as possible.

One important aspect of anti aging therapy is to eat a nutritious diet and perhaps supplement your diet with vitamins and supplements; after all you are what you eat. Many of the vitamins and minerals that the human body needs, work to make the skin healthy and hair full and lustrous. A person with a rosy complexion and shiny hair looks and feels younger.

If you eat a very well balanced diet including all the food groups and sub groups then the need for vitamins and supplements is greatly reduced but this is very difficult for anyone to do that in this day and age.

Taking basic vitamins and minerals in standard doses can make up for any deficiency in your diet. There are some vitamins that are stored in the body and it is important that you do not take too many of these because it is possible to overdose with these vitamins. The vitamins A, D, E, and K are all fat-soluble vitamins and are stored the liver and in the fat cells of the human body. These vitamins are extremely important in anti aging therapy but you must not take more than the recommended doses. Water-soluble vitamins are not stored in the body so the chances of an overdose are highly unlikely.

Anti aging therapy for good hair and skin care must be started as soon as possible. It is easer to prevent skin and hair damage than it is to treat damaged skin and hair. If you have light colored skin then you should be concerned about the damaged that can be done by overexposure to the sun. Sunlight is very important to the human body but over tanning or burning will cause brown spots and wrinkles that become worse as you age.

Keeping the skin moisturized with a good lotion will help the skin to remain elastic and supple. You should also avoid abrasive soaps. Mild soap and water is often the best cleanser for the human skin and it will prevent the skin from becoming too dry and damaged. You should keep your skin well hydrated with a good moisturizer to maintain its youthful appearance.

These few steps along with a few of the following vitamins and supplements will provide you with a good start on keeping that healthy and youthful look throughout your life.

Aloe Vera will help rejuvenate and tone skin all over. A naturally cooling gel, the Aloe Vera botanical ingredients work together to stimulate the blood circulation and naturally soften the skin.

Tea Tree Oil has natural anti-inflammatory properties and helps sooth and treat problem skin. It is used to help tighten pores and firm skin for a more youthful, healthy appearance.

Avocado oil can also be used as a skin moisturizer. Keeping your skin properly moisturized is the best way to make sure it does not age prematurely.

Beta Carotene helps protect Vitamin C from oxidation, which enables it to perform at optimum efficiency. Symptoms of Beta Carotene deficiency include ache, dry dull hair, dry skin and thickened scaly skin on the palms and soles of the feet.

If you just feel that you need vitamins, supplements or herbs to fight the aging process then find a good health care professional prior to starting any type of home treatment.

Always consult your doctor before using this information.

Antiaging Supplement for Reducing Wrinkles | Antiaging Supplements

Antiaging Supplements For Reducing Wrinkles

Finding a right antiaging supplement for reducing wrinkles is very hard. Wrinkles are the contraction and breakdowns of the skin. Most wrinkles accumulate around the eyes, mouth, hands, chest, and other facial areas.

The causes of wrinkles are overexposure to sun, sun beds, environmental hazards, smoke, stress, fatigue, frowning, puckering, wrinkling the forehead and straining the eyes and so on.

You must consider many factors, including cost, ingredients, and reviews and so on, when you are comparing antiaging supplements.

DMAE- Dimethylethanolamine And Lipoic Acid

One of the recommended antiaging supplement included DMAE based solutions and/or LIPOIC Acid. DMAE is a natural hormone in the body that affects the skin when it breaks down, therefore DMAE products might be worth looking into.
Avoton

Avoton is one of the antiaging supplements available, which costs around $90 and few reviews claim this antiaging supplement is good. The product is believed to reduce wrinkles around the forehead and eye area.

One user claimed that she noticed improvement near the mouth area, yet it did nothing for the eye area after using the product for a few weeks. Still, the review claimed that after using the antiaging supplement for only a few weeks the forehead area showed enhancement. Thus, when considering this antiaging supplement exploring the options is the recommended.

Avon Ultimate

Avon Ultimate Other antiaging supplements for reducing wrinkles. One person was amused with the slick advertised and decided to go for the supplement. The antiaging supplement show no obvious effect resulted after using, however the antiaging supplement moisturize the skin.

Anew

One of the other products Avon offers for Antiaging solutions is Anew, however while Avon claims that this antiaging supplement produces results overnight, many using the supplement claimed it showed no result.

Thus, the Avon Ultimate however after using two bottles, which cost around $65, did nothing in the line of reducing wrinkles. Still, the skin felt smoother.

Clinical Line & Wrinkle Corrector

Clinical Line & Wrinkle Corrector is another of Avon’s products. One reviewer claimed the supplement worked well, and definitely reduced the fine lines, particularly around the eye area.

According to one critic this antiaging supplement is not a miracle worker, yet it does offer benefit. The person tested the supplement after paying around $39 Canada dollars for 30 ml, and using the supplement on one-side of her face for a month she noticed results. Thus, according to this critic the product is not recommended for deep wrinkles.

One lady tried the product for around $32 and said it gave a good result, while using other solutions with the formula, however apparently it wasn’t great, since the woman stated she would try a cheaper product if available.

Avon Retroactive

Avon Retroactive antiaging supplement also gave no apparent effect to one buyer. This supplement cost less than $30 and has a nice scent; however, it did nothing as it claimed. The woman apparently was not only unhappy with this supplement, but also apparently as tried, several other antiaging supplement with none doing what they claim.

What is the solution then for minimizing wrinkles? The best antiaging solution is sticking with the products that house the ingredients that work, stay out of the sun largely, avoid smoke, and other harmful areas of the environment that causes damage to the skin.

Still, staying in the house too long will also cause problems, since when you stay in the house all the time, you are merely adding up stress, since the body needs fresh air and sun to a degree.

The marketplace has many solutions for minimizing wrinkles, crowfeet, lines, sags and other aging signs. However, all claim that one supplement works better than the other does, which should put suspicion in your mind.

None of these antiaging supplements will work a miracle, however, some Antiaging supplements will do what the manufacturers and sellers claim. The best antiaging supplement is choosing one supplement, try it for your self and hope it works for the price you paid. Or else, accept your age and go with it.

Which Skin Care Anti Wrinkle Cream Is The Best

Asking which skin care anti wrinkle cream is the best is a loaded question. The reason is that there are several other factors that are determining the health and beauty of your skin. You can have two identical people with the same skin issues using the best wrinkle creams and will likely see different results. One smokes and the other doesn't. One eats a lot of sugar and sugary foods and the other doesn't. One exercises and the other doesn't. One eats more fresh and raw fruits and vegetables and the other doesn't. You will see huge disparities in the results due to these other factors.

What skin care anti cream you use is not going to matter if you are living a poor lifestyle. For example, aging happens and wrinkles set in when cells decay and die. Increased oxidation speeds up the aging process while the opposite can slow down and perhaps even reverse the aging process. Processed foods contain additives and chemicals that are toxic to your body and speeds up aging. Fresh fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants which slow down and halt the oxidation of cells, thereby halting the aging process. So you could be using all the best wrinkle creams and the finest skin care anti wrinkle cream on the market and won't mean anything until you make any required changes in your lifestyle. I would even go as far to say that living a poor lifestyle will make it impossible for the best wrinkles creams to work their magic on your skin.

What Skin Care Anti Wrinkle Cream Is the Best Of The Wrinkle Creams?

The answer is simple. The wrinkle cream with the most antioxidants and the least amount of chemical additives is the best of the wrinkle creams. A recent study revealed that on average women absorb 5 pounds of toxic chemicals into their body from the skin products they use. As far as I know, the Athena 7 minute lift is the best around. See my review of it on my site. It utilizes natural plant oils rather than chemicals created in a lab.

However, if you are really concerned about wrinkles, you shouldn't be just looking for the best wrinkle creams. Not any skin care anti wrinkle cream will be able to do half the work it is capable of if you are living a poor lifestyle. On the other hand, a health anti aging lifestyle with a good diet, exercise and no smoking can actually reverse the aging process to some extent. You'll be able to put off using skin care anti wrinkle cream for another decade or two.

The Secret To Achieving Anti Aging And Wellness

We'd all like to think we're going to look like Sophia Loren, Lauren Bacall or even Bruce Willis when we reach our older years, and remain fit and good looking, while still boasting our youthful complexion.

But the truth is, these people take good care of their appearance – after all, their jobs depend on it. If we leave our bodies to take care of themselves with no help from us, we’re likely to run into problems sooner or later. Aging skin, sagging muscles, a bland complexion and many more unwanted signs of age can easily creep up on us without us realizing.

Anti aging and wellness go hand in hand with each other. If we take the time to invest in our appearance now by implementing an anti aging and wellness schedule for ourselves, then we will be able to reap the benefits as the years go by.

Keeping Yourself Active

Staying fit and active should be your first step towards an anti aging and wellness regime. Physical activity should ideally be built into every single day. We’re not suggesting you run marathons or swim miles at your local pool every day, but a moderate amount of exercise (ideally weight bearing or cardiovascular in nature, to keep your cardiovascular system healthy and your muscles and joints supple) is the key to keeping you fit and healthy.

The best way to fit exercise into your anti aging and wellness routine is to think about what you do each day and change your routine accordingly. Could you walk to work instead of drive? How about visiting the gym in your lunch hour each day? Maybe you could hop off the train a couple of stops earlier and walk the rest of the way into work?

Good Food, Good Health

The long term effects of regular exercise on anti aging and wellness are many, but there are other ways you can stay looking younger for longer and enjoy your later years more.

Diet has a big effect on our lives. Think about your car for a moment – would you put sub-standard fuel into it and expect it to run smoothly? Yet we do this with our bodies almost every day.

The secret to eating well to achieve long term anti aging and wellness is really not a secret at all. Eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, less processed food and less saturated fat is the ideal way to take an immediate step towards a healthier and longer future.

Finally, take care of your complexion every day. Use a good cleanser, toner and moisturizer every morning and night to get rid of the toxins and dirt that builds up during the day.

If you implement these small changes every day, your body will thank you in years to come.

7 Steps To Beat Aging

1. Exercise.

As you grow older, your bones lose density. Exercise, especially weight bearing exercises like jogging, hiking, stair climbing and weight lifting build up your bone density. Exercise regular and take enough calcium through milk and leafy green vegetables to beat osteoporosis.

Since muscle mass decreases as you age, you can beat that through exercise. Exercise builds muscle and makes you healthier overall. You'd feel younger too.

2. Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night.

Your body repairs itself when you sleep. Cells regenerate faster at night. While you are in the deep cycles of sleep, your body tissues are rebuilt and repaired after the wear and tear they have undergone throughout the day. Too little sleep might make you age faster. If you have problems sleeping, prepare for bed 30 minutes before your bedtime with a long soak in a warm bath scented with lavender oil. A cup of chamomile tea before you go to bed help. As would avoiding coffee or anything caffeine after dark.

3. Drink sufficient water. That mean 8 to 10 large glasses of water everyday.

Your body is made up of 60% water. You need water for your body to function properly, to flush away the toxins and to stay healthy.

4. Use sunblock during the day.

That is the best thing you can do for your skin. The sun's UV rays damages your skin, causing it to age prematurely, that is, if you don't get skin cancer first.

5. Moisturize your skin.

Cleanse your skin twice daily to get rid of toxins on the surface of your skin. Then apply moisturizer to plump up the surface layers of your skin and to seal in the moisture. Most moisturizers have ingredients with anti-aging properties.

6. Take plenty of antioxidants in your diet.

Antioxidants neutralize the free radicals that would damage the cells in your body, aging you more quickly. Vitamins A, C and E are antioxidants as are glutathione and superoxide dismutase. Taking fruits, vegetables and oils rich in antioxidants would help slow down the deterioration of your body's cells.

7. Get enough Omega 3 in your diet.

That means loading up on fish and taking omega 3 supplements.

Antioxidants - An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure

Who hasn't heard that one? Modern medicine seeks a cure-all. The problem with cures is that they're just that -- cures. One thing no drug can do at present, is make you eat healthy. Consuming 8 glasses of purified water, adequate consumption of fiber -- approximately 20 to 25 grams per day, and adequate antioxidant consumption have all been shown to dramatically reduce the likelihood of developing cancer. Most governments recommend 5-10 servings of fruits and vegetables daily -- but let's face it... How many people actually follow that? If you're not a vegetarian, it's highly improbably you're meeting your government's recommendations unless you're really paying close attention to what you're eating.

What hasn't become mainstream knowledge yet, is that there are many other excellent sources of antioxidants. Sprinkling a little bit of oregano on your dinner not only adds flavor, it also adds a concentrated source of antioxidants -- as will any other herb or spice. What about nuts and seeds? Nuts score incredibly high on ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) tests designed to determine the free radical protection offered by various foods. Flaxseed offers a concentrated source of Omega-3, something most people aren't getting enough of. The downside to nuts and seeds? They're extremely high in calories.

The good news... Eating a handful each day can actually help you lose weight! What about chocolate? If you're a fan of dark chocolate, you may be pleased to know it's among the healthiest snacks you can have. The next time you don't have time to prepare a meal and are on the run, stop by your local convenience store and pick up a dark chocolate bar rather than a burger. A final tip -- make sure you get at least 7 hours of sleep every night. Melatonin is one of the most potent antioxidants known to date. Longevity studies in animals have resulted in dramatically increased lifespans in many species merely by supplementing them with melatonin.

While it remains uncertain at this point whether melatonin, resveratrol, and certain nootropics will have the same life extending effects in humans as in animals, one thing remains certain -- small lifestyle changes such as replacing beer with an occasional glass of red wine (preferably of darker grapes such as Pinot Noir), getting a minimum 7 hours of sleep each night, at the same time each night if possible so as not to disturb the circadian rhythm, trying to get more antioxidant-rich foods in your diet, as well as consuming adequate amounts of fiber and water, are all ways to maximize your chances of living a long, healthy, productive life.

Acai Berries contain plant sterols including beta-sitosterol. Today, sterols are being used to treat associated benign prostate dyperplasmia. These plant sterols have also been shown to help control cholesterol as well as act as precursors to many important substances produced by the body. Acai Berries are also a remarkable concentration of Antioxidants to help combat premature aging. Acai Berry is a dense source of a particular class of flavanoids called anthocyanins. THE ORAC VALUE of Acai Berry is higher than any other known edible berry on the planet!

Acai Berry is also an excellent source of dietary fiber! Fiber promotes a healthy digestive system. Research studies suggest soluable fibers may help lower blood cholesterol. The insoluble fiber may help reduce the risk of developing certain types of cancers. Acai is extremely rich in organic vegetable protein which does not generate cholesterol during its digestion and is easier to process and transport to your muscles compared to that of animal protein (such as in milk or meat). Besides its outstanding content of protein and unsaturated lipids, acai is also rich on carbohydrates which provide your body with the necessary energy and stamina to keep you going throughout the day and especially during workouts or any kind of sporting activities.

Acai also contains an amazingly high concentration level of Antioxidants which contribute to combat premature aging. The proanthocyanidin contents in Acai Berries are 10 to 30 times the anthocyanins of red wine per volume. Although the French have a high fat diet, they have a low incidence of cardio vascular disease compared to the western countries. They contribute this factor to their consumption of red wine. Acai Berries can help promote a healthier cardio vascular system and digestive tract, because it's synergy of monounsaturated (these are the healthy fats), dietary fiber and phytosterols.

The Amazon Acai Berry with 10 times the Anitoxidants of grapes and twice the Antioxidants of Blueberries, is also considered to have the best nutritional value of any fruit on earth.

Anti-Aging - What Is Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty is the medical term given to one of the most common cosmetic re-constructive surgeries - eyelid surgery. This is a surgical procedure that removes excess folds of skin in the upper lids and pouches under the eyes or the lower lids. Most of the times this surgery is conducted for cosmetic reasons to improve looks as the removal of folds of the skin make you look younger, brighter and fresher. At times it is also required for medical reasons. The folds and puffiness in the eyes could interfere with vision as well.

This surgical procedure gives a clear and neat look around the eyes but does not correct crow’s feet, fine wrinkles under eyes, dark circles, or sagging eye brows Blepharoplasty can be performed on either eyelid or both. Recovery after the procedure is quick and results for quite a long time.

As a process of aging, eyelids become thin and lose elasticity causing them to sag and fold. The eyeball is surrounded by fat tissue to cushion the eyes. With time the fat behind the eyeballs moves forward, causing the baggy look on the eyes. If it increases beyond limit it starts to disturb vision and also makes usage of glasses or lenses difficult.

Blepharoplasty is performed by the plastic surgeon under general anesthesia and usually doesn’t require hospital stay. Your doctor might guide you to eliminate medications such as aspirin before the surgery and to avoid eating or drinking before a few hours of the surgery. It is performed first on the upper lids and then the lower lids. An incision is made according to the natural lines and creases of the eyes. According to the surgeon’s decision, excess fat, muscles and skin are removed targeting towards the correct shaping of the eye. Then the incisions are stitched back. These sutures fade away within weeks.

Complications which could arise usually subside within a few weeks
•Infection
•Itching and burning sensation
•Swelling
•Blood clotting
•Prominent scars
•Stiffness of lids
•Bleeding
•Dryness
•Double or blurred vision

Precautions after surgery
•Using ice for compression to reduce swelling and bruising.
•Intake of pain killers.
•Avoid heavy sports and activities that could increase blood pressure or pulse rate,to avoid bleeding.
•Avoid exposing operated area to the sun.
•Avoid eye make up
•Avoid usage of contact lenses.
•Avoid reading for a few days.

Consider an emergency and visit a doctor if severe bleeding, swelling or pain occurs. Or if you experience any vision problems

Other options of cosmetic surgery for eyes.

•Transconjunctival lower eyelid blepharoplasty-. Under this surgery an incision is made on the inside of the lower eyelid with a laser and the excess fat is removed. The external skin of the lower eyelid is readjusted and sutures are used to close the incision.

•Brow lift-This can be conducted on patients to raise the brow, reduce or eliminate horizontal creases in the forehead, erase frown lines. If their eyebrows have dropped down significantly due to age and bagginess of the eyes, upper eye lid surgery is not enough. So the two surgeries are combined but brow lift can be conducted alone as well. Under this procedure the skin of the forehead is peeled from an incision across the head from one ear to the other to remove the muscles. The skin is then tightened upwards, raising the eyebrows. Then excess skin is removed before the incision is sutured. This can also be done endoscopically through the incision. This procedure results in practically no scarring and also quick recovery.

•Botox - short for Botulinum Toxin Type A - is used to treat facial lines caused primarily by the action of the muscles on the skin, such as the deep crease between the eyebrows and crow's feet wrinkles. This is a non surgical option which removes fine lines and wrinkles.

•Collagen injections under the eye-Collagen is a protein that supports the skin and gives it a youthful tone and suppleness. This is again a non surgical procedure but has temporary effect.

Anti Aging - Look Years Younger in Just Minutes

Women's magazines and certain home pages for major search engines typically relay the latest and greatest five ways to stop aging now, seven helpful tips to stop unwanted hair growth and even ten ways to leave your lover. If you are like most people, these headlines draw you into reading or at least skimming the article to see if any of these tips resonate with your life needs.

Some of these tips are meant to tickle your funny bone but when dispensing sage advice, they just might miss the mark.

A recent magazine and internet article offered information regarding under eye circles, boosting your eyebrows and using under eye concealers.

"Give Crow's Feet the Boot" stated that these lines are formed as a result of lost collagen in the skin and gave the impression that by using a topical retinol or Vitamin A derivative, those lines and wrinkles would be lessened.

Yes, loss of collagen can certainly create lines and wrinkles but most Crow's feet are caused by repeated squinting motions coupled with an elongated forehead muscle that has pooled into the eyebrow muscles. Using a topical treatment to treat this type of compression may very temporarily ease the look of Crow's Feet but when squinting is repeated and gravity sets in, the lines and creases will return.

Using chilled eye compresses to temporarily alleviate under eye puffiness caused by fluid retention is well known; however, did you know that by decreasing your salt intake and slightly increasing your water consumption can deflate those puffy eyes?

In addition, try sleeping on a higher, firmer pillow and slide a one-inch book under each leg of your bed's headboard to slightly incline the pitch so that you are not sleeping flat. Check with your Doc if you are taking medication and under eye puffiness persists because long-term puffiness may indicate another condition.

Lifting your eyebrows by reshaping your eyebrow's arch or stenciling doesn't really create a difference if your eye lids are flabby, lined and moving toward your lashes. Hooded eye lids are a result of the eyebrow muscle losing its tone and resiliency; plucking or drawing does not correct the problem.

What makes a difference to help you look years younger? Can circles, droopy eyelids, brows and other age related appearances be remedied?

The best kept anti-aging secret is facial exercise! Facial exercise can stop crow's feet, lift sagging eyelids, lighten and brighten the under eye area and much, much more.

Concerned that your under eye bags are there forever and those dark circles make you look like a zombie even though you daily use a concealer in every conceivable shade?

Here is a movement you can begin to help you look years younger in just seconds a day.

Try the 100-circle exercise for under eye puffiness and dark circles: Apply a very small amount of an eye treatment product to the ring finger of your dominant hand. Begin under the inner brow and lightly trace upwards and outwards until a full circle has been completed around the upper and lower eye region. Gently perform this exercise about 100 times around each eye making certain the under eye area is well lubricated before you begin.

You can stop the formation of Crow's feet by elevating the forehead and upper eye brows. Prove this now: place the three middle fingers of each hand underneath your eye brows and push them upward. Do you see how the Crow's feet are no longer apparent?

Simple resistance exercise can change the shape and contour of your face quickly without risk or harm. In just minutes a day, your face can look revitalized and fresh naturally.

Crow's feet and sagging eyebrows can be remedied by performing one exercise that requires only 35 seconds of your time each day.

Enjoy the confidence knowing that your face can be saved without resorting to silly tactics that might disappoint you.

In general, edible bird's nest cna be divided into cave nests and house nests. Cave nests are mainly harvested from natural caves. Since cave nests are 'made' by free,naturally-living swiflets, some consider them to be more valuable than house nests. Hence, they fetch a higher price. However, hte truth is cave nests generally contain more foreign materials and feathers than house nests. Besides, cavenests are exposed to the risk of heavy metal contamination from the environment.

House nests are made by swiflets (Collocalia, sp.) in the attice of countryside houses. Now ,human has acquired the knowledge of cultivating the swiflets in control buildings. Generally, the texture of house nests are smoother compared to those of cave nests, with less feathers and other contaminants.

Bird's nest is an expensive and nutritive product. Thus it is important to distinguish the genuine bird's nest. In the market, there are many producers who would increase the weight of bird's nest by adding additives like white fungus, jelly and skin.

Appearance:- Good and genuine nests consist of two main types of filaments. The outer layer that has longer and bigger filaments whereas the inner part has finer, shorter filaments.

Cooking:- When double boiled for an hour the bird's nest inner filaments become water soluble. The outer filaments contain mainly minerals, it is less soluble but gives bird's nest its signature fibrous taste and appearance.

Odour:- During double boiling a fine scent of near albumin odour will occur.

Bird's nests contain gycoprotein. This special glycoprotein has mitogenic effect properties named as Epidermal Growth Factor(EGF) which can stimulate cell growth. The tonic powers of bird's nests are believed to improve skin complexion and slow down the aging.

In traditional Chinese medicine, bird's nest is believed to offer good effect for treating tuberculosis, dry coughs, asthma, and general weakness due to bronchial ailments. It is also traditionally used to nourish the kidney, lung, heart and stomach. Consumption of bird's nest is also recommended to complement other treatments to combat degenerative diseases such as cancer and also for convalescence or to recover health after illness or surgery.

The Basics of Anti-Aging Skin Care

The very first question most people have when exploring the realm of anti-aging skin care is, “What skin rejuvenation products have been proven to be effective”? Accurate information regarding the multitude of anti-aging treatments flooding the marketplace is the best way to make informed decisions for developing your own skin rejuvenation regime which incorporates the anti-aging skin care techniques, strategies and treatments that best address your personal aging skin issues.

The basics of effective skin rejuvenation begin with the facts on anti-aging skin care treatments. There are several active ingredients that have been clinically proven to be effective skin rejuvenators. One of the most effective treatments is vitamin A derivatives such a retinol or retinyl palmitate.

The Retin A or Renova vitamin A treatments are the strongest although the most irritating treatments of the vitamin A options and are only available by prescription. If your skin needs major rejuvenation attention, ask your Doctor if you are a candidate for the prescription vitamin A treatment of Retin A or Renova.

If not, including one of the other retinol alternatives in your skin care routine is an excellent strategy. The concentration of over-the-counter retinol products can range up to 1%. The basic rule of thumb is, the higher the concentration, the stronger the treatment. Be forewarned though, read the directions carefully because the stronger retinol products can be quite irritating to the skin. Starting slow and gradually working your way up to higher concentrations will allow you skin to adjust to the treatments better. The vitamin A derivative, Retinyl Palmitate, is the less irritating of the Vitamin A options and is considered to have quite effective rejuvenating qualities.

The next most beneficial anti-aging skin rejuvenation treatment is a chemical exfoliant such as an alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) or beta hydroxyl acid (BHA) product. The most popular of these acids is an AHA glycolic acid. Glycolic acid should be use in concentrations of 8% to 15% depending on your skin’s sensitivity. Start out with a lower concentration and gradually move up to a 10% then 15% concentration depending on your skin’s tolerance in order to avoid irritation.

The last consideration is including an antioxidant to contain the skin damaging free radicals as well as to encourage overall skin repair. Products containing Vitamin C Ester, Spin Trap, or CoQ10 are all good options to explore. Then, of course, there are other viable anti-aging treatments which can be incorporated into your regime depending on your particular skin rejuvenation needs which include DMAE, Kinerase or Kinetin, and GHK Copper Peptides. Finally, the most critical and essential aspect to any successful skin rejuvenation regime is sunscreen, at least once a day, each and every day!

Anti-aging Skin Care Treatments: What to Do When that First Wrinkle Appears

There comes a time in everybody’s life when we start to consider the implications of growing old and the possibilities of using one of the many different anti-aging treatments that are available. Coincidentally, this time of life is usually around the same time we discover our first wrinkle or laughter line. These first signs normally become apparent in your 30s or 40s if you are lucky and while that is the first time we will be likely to consider using anti-aging treatment, we really should start using it earlier than this. By keeping our skin healthy from an earlier age we are at least prolonging the aging effect as long as possible.

If you do leave it until the very first signs of wrinkles it is possible to still do something about it. When the first wrinkles do materialise, don’t ignore them. Denial is the worst possible move at this point. Application of a good anti-aging cream may help remove some of the wrinkles and stop new lines forming.

How do anti-aging products work?

Good anti-aging treatments are far from being a miracle cream, and contain vital nutrients and vitamins that are proven to help rejuvenate the skin. Most contain Retinol, a form of Vitamin A that has proven in recent studies to have a considerable rejuvenating effect on aging skin.

Other types of treatment use different chemicals and vitamins to improve the look of your aging skin.

The collagen molecules in skin begin to break down as we age and this is what creates the wrinkles and lines on our faces. Most anti-aging creams are only able to contain partial collagen molecules because they are too large to enter the skin by use of a lotion. Hydroderm have developed the patented Collagen Infusion Delivery System. This innovative formula delivers entire collagen molecules into the skin, which give a healthy and rejuvenated glow taking away the wrinkles and lines associated with old age.

Dermabrasion is one of the oldest known treatments, developed in 105 by a German dermatologist. Originally created for the treatment of acne scars, it has been successfully used for many decades to remove many forms of skin abrasions and can even be used for the safe removal of tattoos. Dermabrasion patients do suffer a certain amount of rawness and slight pain in their faces once the treatment is complete and an opaque yellow fluid drains from the sites but this is perfectly normal and should be expected. The scabs that this liquid leaves can easily be removed with wet cloths.

Surgeons who carry out laser Dermabrasion insist it is a far superior form of Dermabrasion because the use of the laser facilitates much more accuracy and, therefore, better results.

Microdermabrasion utilises a fine mist of crystals that smoothen the skin and a vacuum action that removes dead outer layers of skin giving you smooth, soft surface alleviating the appearance of aging skin.

Microdermabrasion treats sun damaged skin, age spots, wrinkles, fine lines and just about every type of aging skin problem you may face. An entire program of Microdermabrasion can take as little as half an hour to complete and there is little discomfort and no side effects. Any skin colour can be treated and upon completion of the program the user can return to a normal daily life.

On the discovery of Microdermabrasion several years ago, it was first necessary to go to a professional dermatologist in order to receive the treatment however, now you can buy a home Microdermabrasion kit so you can do it yourself from the comfort of your own home.

Summary

The appearance of aging skin is an inevitable symptom of modern living. The increasing toxins in today’s society act like poisons upon our skin. This in turn causes acne and nasty abrasions to the skin that can be difficult to get rid of.

Dermatological studies have been conducted with many nutrients and vitamins and these can be used to help prevent the aging process. Botox and other such harsh treatments can be avoided with the use of creams or delicate dermatological procedures.

Dermabrasion, Microdermabrasion and Hydroderm are excellent examples of these. They are widely available either through chemists or, in the case of laser Dermabrasion from a dermatologist through your local hospital.

Using any of these treatments can help alleviate the appearances associated with aging and the toxins in modern society. The key is to start taking care of your skin at the earliest possible opportunity.

Seven Step Anti-Aging Protocol - Part One Stem Cells For Age Reversal

While no one wants to grow old, instead of focusing on aging the focus should be on aging well. The following steps can help you make your way through the aging process with grace.

I. Stem Cells for Age Reversal

Why are stem cells a major breakthrough for anti-aging? As we age, the stem cell reserves we are born with decline. Our cells lose their ability to regenerate and repair tissue compared to when we were younger. Most signs of aging are related to loss of stem cells and the loss of the youth and vitality of the individual cells and organs. Over time cells weaken and eventually die. However, stem cells you’re your own bone marrow, or umbilical cords have a tremendous potential to repair vital organs, tissue and bodily systems. Remember, after birth the umbilical cord and placentas would typically be discarded as medical waste, so we are simply obtaining and carefully preserving under nitrogen freeze the source of stem cells without harm or waste.

A. Stem cells have three amazing differentiations from regular cells.

1)Stem cells are unspecialized. They have no genetic code yet, so they can become almost any kind of specialized cell in the human body, such as cartilage, bone, muscle, tendons, skin, blood, nerves or organ cells.

2) Stem cells may replicate many times, a process known as proliferation, creating literally millions of renewed cells with the capability of long term self-renewal.

3) These stem cells undergo a process of differentiation since the stem cells have within their cellular makeup genetic material that can trigger the conversion of unspecialized stem cells to become specialized cells to serve a new function. Also, outside the cells, after they are infused into the human body the stem cells gravitate to the source of injury (signaled by sites of inflammation and chemicals secreted by other neighboring cells in our body’s soup of life) and generate signals to match the correct surrounding tissues to restore, replace and rejuvenate the body’s injuries. Much like a lizard if the tail is bitten off by a predator, the tail soon grows back as it was.

Are cord derived stem cells safe?

After over 15 years and 1,200 treatments for humans receiving cord blood (purified cells from USA blood banks) for conditions such as leukemia and other blood diseases, there has never been a report of a tumor or any other dangerous side effect. We were particularly wondering if a tissue match (1 in 3,000) and a blood type match (1 in 9) would be necessary. It has been shown that the survival rate for those given unmatched transfusions of stem cells from donors that did not match, was better than if the individuals had not received the treatments. For instance, I myself am blood type O, and my blood was not matched when I had my infusion in Malaysia. If one is having different types of stem cells with multiple vials it becomes less likely to match blood types. Now if we use stem cells from your own bone marrow the match is already assured.
There is no viral infection risk or gastric cancer or tumors with UCB umbilical cord blood stem cells or bone marrow. Using UCB stem cells also help to avoid immune reaction and rejection because newborn cells are immature and have no identity until infused. Also, UCB stem cells help produce many cytokines and growth factors to rejuvenate the body, nerve, bone, muscle, skin, etc.
Stem cells now can be done with your own bone marrow.

Anti aging supplements are not that different and they work on the principle that they are effective when there are vitamins, minerals as well as phytonutrients even if these are not available in the proper amounts in the diet that we consume. Most of the anti aging supplements we use will have antioxidant vitamins, which help in preventing damage to cells from free radicals. They should contain vitamin A, E and C as well as nutrients known as bioflavanoids that keep the blood vessels strong as well as in good health, and are also known to be good for anti-inflammation, which in turn does wonders for reducing aging effects.

Anti aging supplement with bioflavanoids do more than simply provide visible benefits such as reducing wrinkles, improving skin tone, helping to prevent sagging skin as well as improves pigmentation. In fact, it can also protect the body from diseases that are related to a patient’s age, and they can help the muscles relax and thus contain high blood pressure problems.

Some of the other nutrients found in anti aging supplements are lycopene, selenium as well as lutien. Even though the anti aging supplements are effective, they should be used in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle, which requires having proper sleep, a good diet that is balanced, and taking of plenty of water as also exercising regularly. You should also ensure that you remain active both physically as well as mentally. If you follow the anti aging supplement intake with a proper lifestyle, you will not be taking one step forward only to take two steps backwards.

Anti-Aging Breakfast Smoothie

What you eat will have an enormous impact on your overall health and longevity.

It is important to look at food as more than just a way to satiate our cravings.

Food is medicine.

What you eat will have an enormous impact on your overall health and longevity.

Nearly all of our clients include one blended drink of a variety of vegetables and fruit every day.

My Typical Breakfast Smoothie

Handful of Napa cabbage (Chinese cabbage) - I tear off leaves rather than cut so the oxidation of browning of the veggie doesn’t happen, lasting longer in the refrigerator.
One small baby bok Choy or one large leaf and stem from large bok Choy
Carrot-1
Cherries frozen, raspberries, watermelon fresh or frozen
squash (zucchini or yellow) one, low on scale of allergy issues, well tolerated by most, with little taste to be challenged with as compared to broccoli which on only use up to one florets off since too strong in taste for most.
Water liter- 12 to 16 oz Drink 48 to 60 oz in hour or two. That is typical breakfast

Blend with added supplements if desired (I often break open capsules into my drink so I don’t have to swallow so many) and I don’t have to consume the capsule just the content)

I thoroughly advocate the avoidance of "Atkins type Food",(this is backed by years of medical journal research). One important reason, (One of many) is the need to avoid foods that cause dehydration such as meat and dairy products. The reason high-protein meat and dairy foods are so dehydrating is because so much water (eight times more than plant foods and carbohydrates) is required to digest and detoxify all the waste by-products (such as ammonia and uric acid). Dry complex carbohydrates such as whole grains are not as bad as meats and dairy because the complex carbohydrates require very little water for digestion. Water-rich foods already have water contained in the plant cell walls and therefore contribute, instead of take away from total body water levels.

Anti-Aging Diets - Calorie Restriction Diets Pros and Cons Explored

A diet involving eating less, while still getting enough vitamins and nutrients is of great interest. Researchers find that calorie restriction diets extend the lives of animals. It is unknown if the anti-aging diets help people to extend their lives. Limited studies have been done in people.

Animal studies focused on insects and animals with short life spans. Researchers found animals on restricted diets live longer. They also found that calorie restriction diets are more important to the life span than striving to maintain healthy weight and exercising regularly. There are studies under way involving animals with longer life spans and will take years to finish. There is promise with the preliminary results in monkeys.

Although scientists have doubts about actual positive effects of the anti-aging calorie restriction diet, calorie restriction research may give doctors clues about the aging process and aging may be slowed.

The way a calorie restriction diet works is to eat less than your body needs to maintain your normal weight. How much less a person eats varies. People who follow a calorie restriction diet hope to slow the aging process and live longer.

The diet involves restricting how much food you eat and carefully monitoring food intake to ensure getting enough vitamins and nutrients. Choices consist of foods full of nutrients, but low in calories, such as vegetables and whole grains.

The benefits of short trials of calorie restriction diets in people include:

• Blood pressure
• Blood sugar
• Body fat percentage
• Cholesterol levels
• Heart rate
• Weight

These benefits are healthy changes that may reduce the risk of chronic disease later in life and therefore create longer life for humans. Risks of calorie restriction diets include:
• Reduced bone density
• Loss of muscle mass
• Anemia
• Memory loss
• Dizziness
• Depression

Studies show that getting inadequate amounts of vitamins and nutrients can lead to serious problems such as heart failure and death. Studies show that people with the lowest range body mass index scores have a higher risk of death than do those with normal scores. The studies do not take into account undiagnosed cancer or other serious illnesses that may have caused the weight loss. However, the study results do give us a cause to be cautious when considering the calorie restriction diets as a means of prolonging life. They may end up doing just the opposite for some individuals. There is also very little known about long-term effects of calorie restriction diets in people who have a healthy weight.

If you are considering a calorie restricted diet first discuss it with your doctor. He or she should be able to explore the possible benefits and risks of a calorie restriction diet for you in particular. Getting enough vitamins and nutrients can be difficult when you eat less food, you may also need to consult with a certified dietary nutritionist. He or she can help you decide which foods you should eat to provide you with the nutrition you need.

Calorie restriction diet studies may help researchers understand the aging process. The studies may also provide necessary clues for developing new anti-aging drugs. Once researchers study how calorie restriction diets work on the body their hope is to create drugs to work in the same way.

It might be just as good an idea to wait to see what kind of drugs researchers come up with, that is, if you are young enough to wait for that conclusion. Otherwise, consult with your doctor first before starting a calorie restriction diet in the hopes of anti-aging.

Anti Aging Creams Are Mainly Meant For Women Though Men Too Are Using It

The company is famous for its slogan “love the skin you’re in”.

Nutritional supplements for Antiaging

At times it may not be possible for you to get all the anti-aging nutrients you need by your diet alone, which is where anti-aging nutritional supplements come in. You may need to add one of these supplements to your diet in order to get the nutrients you need. Some of the nutrients and vitamins that would be a good anti-aging nutritional supplements include Vitamin D, niacin, Vitamin K, all the B Vitamins, folic acid, zinc, iron, and even copper. Vitamin C is also important as well, and you will probably want to look for extra anti-aging nutritional supplements that have at least 1000 mg of Vitamin C as well. Men can greatly benefit from taking anti-aging nutritional supplements that have supplements to help the immune system, such as Vitamin C and Vitamin E, which can help them avoid getting prostrate cancer. Anti Aging - What is Anti Aging

Like it or not, "anti-aging" now has a number of quite different common meanings and connotations. Each is championed by a particular group or loose coalition of interests, but advocates for these groups have a way of diving into the fray without defining their terms. This makes reading about anti-aging techniques, technologies, medicine, products, and debates very confusing for the newcomer.

* For the scientific community, anti-aging research refers exclusively to slowing, preventing, or reversing the aging process. There is, as of 2007, no medical technology that allows this to be done - although the jury is still out on calorie restriction in humans. Nor is there any currently available method (short of waiting for people to die) to accurately measure the effects of an alleged anti-aging therapy.

* In the medical and more reputable business community, anti-aging medicine means early detection, prevention, and reversal of age-related diseases. This is quite different from tackling the aging process itself, and a wide array of strategies and therapies are currently available. Calorie restriction, for example, is a demonstrated way to lower risk for a wide range of age-related degenerative conditions.

* The wider business community - including a great many fraudulent and frivolous ventures - views "anti-aging" as a valuable brand and a demonstrated way to increase sales. At the worse end of the scale, this leads to snake oil salesmen, "anti-aging" cremes that may or may not make your skin look younger, and infomercials that tout the "anti-aging" benefits of exercise machines. Broadly, and very charitably, we can look at these varied definitions of anti-aging as meaning "to look and feel younger in some way" - which has no bearing on how long you live or how healthy you actually are.

The confusion of most interest is between the first two definitions. Many interventions lengthen life span for individuals by preventing or curing specific age-related diseases that would otherwise prove fatal. For example, ask yourself whether preventing heart disease or diabetes is anti-aging medicine. This would have no effect on the aging process, but it would help many people to live longer, healthier lives. Is this anti-aging research? Scientists say no, some medical and business groups say yes.
